Description
Ayaka Suwa is a Japanese voice actress born on May 27, 1988, in Nisshin, Aichi Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Arts Vision. Suwa's interest in performing arts began in elementary school when she participated in a musical, and her fascination with voice acting was sparked in junior high school through her love for the character Ryoma Echizen from The Prince of Tennis. To pursue this career, she enrolled in the Japan Narration Acting Institute in Nagoya, taking lessons once a week while attending Aichi Shukutoku University. After completing her training, she joined Arts Vision in 2010 and made her official debut in 2011.

Suwa's first major leading role came in 2014 when she was cast as Tokaku Azuma in the television anime series Riddle Story of Devil. This marked a significant turning point in her career, leading to a steady stream of prominent roles. That same year, she also voiced Ruri Ninjabayashi in If Her Flag Breaks, Ikumi Suzuki in Jinsei, and Hijiri Kasuga in Trinity Seven, establishing her as a versatile talent in the industry.

Throughout her career, Suwa has taken on a wide variety of characters across many different anime series. She is known for roles such as Miki Kanzaki in the long-running cycling series Yowamushi Pedal and its subsequent sequels and specials, a role she has played since 2013. She also gained recognition for her dual role as the goddess Eris and the thief Chris in the popular comedy-fantasy series KonoSuba, first appearing in 2016 and reprising the role in later seasons and the crossover series Isekai Quartet. Her other notable anime roles include Matoi Sumeragi in Matoi the Sacred Slayer, Sion Ogura in The Demon Girl Next Door, Clara Kisenaria in Fairy Gone, Mujina in SSSS.Dynazenon, and Otome Okunomiya in Prima Doll.

Beyond anime, Suwa has an extensive portfolio in video game voice acting, which includes several high-profile titles. She is the voice of Matsuri Tokugawa in The Idolmaster Million Live! series. One of her most internationally recognized roles is that of the android A2 in the critically acclaimed action role-playing game Nier: Automata, a role she later reprised for the anime adaptation Nier: Automata Ver1.1a. Her other game credits include Elise in Fire Emblem Fates and Fire Emblem Heroes, Negev in Girls' Frontline, and numerous characters in popular mobile games such as Arknights (Cuora, Manticore, Gavial), Azur Lane (Arethusa), and Fate/Grand Order (Kukulkan).

Suwa's career demonstrates a pattern of recurring collaborations with specific production teams and fellow cast members. Her long-standing role in the Yowamushi Pedal franchise is a prime example of this. She has also worked on multiple projects within the same creative spheres, such as her appearances in various works by the animation studio Trigger, including SSSS.Dynazenon. Her involvement in the extensive Nier franchise, both in the original game and its anime adaptation, highlights her continued association with major gaming properties.

In recognition of her significant roles and contributions, Suwa's performance as A2 in Nier: Automata is frequently cited as a standout in her career, bringing depth to a complex, non-playable character. Her first lead role in Riddle Story of Devil is also a cornerstone of her professional biography. On a personal note, Suwa announced her marriage to manga creator Kotoba Inoya, known for Smile Down the Runway, in January 2023. In late October 2024, she gave birth to a daughter.
