Description
Lyra was an adventurer belonging to the Astraea Familia, a Pallum with medium-length pink hair and a perpetually sly smile that Ryuu Lion often recalled. She was the reincarnation of Helga, the former deputy leader of the Fianna Knights. Lyra’s background was difficult: born without a name to two Pallum inmates in a prison, she named herself and eventually received a falna from a god while still incarcerated. She managed to leave the prison and later joined the Astraea Familia as its third member. Despite early hardships, she and her familia rose quickly in fame and prosperity. She reached Level 3 at the age of sixteen after participating in the defeat of Alfia during the Great Feud.

Lyra’s personality was contrary, blunt, and unreserved. She spoke roughly and was openly vulgar, once joking about Ryuu’s “time of the month” when the elf was being scolded. Despite a seeming incompatibility with elves, she was the second person Ryuu usually turned to for advice, and her opinion carried great weight within the familia. Lyra lived by the motto “learn everything and use anything,” believing that knowledge, even if seemingly unnecessary, was a weapon that could help people. She taught Ryuu how to see through lies, negotiate by blackmail and intimidation, win at gambling, and cheat, reasoning that one must understand how villains act in order to catch them. She was proud of her dyed hair and had a persistent romantic pursuit of Finn Deimne, claiming he would soon propose to her despite his active avoidance. She proposed to him multiple times and once directly complained about his refusals. She found it amusing when Finn revealed that his reluctance stemmed from a bad feeling—that she had been his superior in a past life—but she never gave up on the idea.

In the story, Lyra’s role is primarily seen through flashbacks in the fourth season, particularly during the Deep Chapter: Calamity Arc that delves into Ryuu’s past. Lyra was a key member of the Astraea Familia, acting as a strategist and a source of cunning, unorthodox tactics. Five years before the main events, the Astraea Familia was trapped in the Dungeon by the Rudra Familia. The ensuing damage triggered the appearance of the Juggernaut, a monstrous entity that began slaughtering everyone. At Alise Lovell’s request, Lyra sacrificed herself alongside Alise and Kaguya to destroy the Juggernaut, ensuring Ryuu’s survival.

Notable abilities included a genius intellect and resourcefulness that made her a vital part of her familia despite her relatively modest physical strength. She was highly analytical, capable of deciphering the characteristics of Alfia’s magic. Her combat skills leaned on dirty tricks and cowardly tactics, including retreat when necessary. She possessed enhanced senses, especially eyesight, as a Pallum and further improved by her falna. Lyra wielded magic: Mus Mine created a minefield, Wingus Smite was another offensive spell, and she had spells named Ratts Phil and Agile Salt. Her development abilities included Abnormal Resistance, which negated poison and similar effects. She used a pair of boomerang-like blades called Carnivore and employed bombs of her own making. One of her most powerful bombs could blow off a Juggernaut’s arm. She also owned the Aegis, a magic shield created by Asfi and Tsubaki that could copy any magic it contacted, though it was shattered during the battle against Alfia. Lyra’s strategic mind, willingness to use any means necessary, and ultimate self-sacrifice define her character development from a survivor of a harsh upbringing to a devoted comrade who gave everything for her friends.
