Description
Kazuma Satō is a Japanese teenage shut-in and former NEET who, after a comical death, was transported to a fantasy world where he leads an adventuring party. He and his party later find themselves transported once again to attend a school in a crossover world.

In this new setting, Kazuma is either sixteen or seventeen years old. Having been a recluse who did little but play video games before his first isekai adventure, he quickly falls back into those old habits when placed in a school environment. He maintains an average build with slightly spiky chestnut-brown hair and green eyes, wearing his standard gold-trimmed green mantle over a white shirt, pants, and leather boots.

Kazuma possesses a complex and often contradictory personality. He is notably lazy and prefers relaxation, which makes him favor the comparative ease of school life over his original fantasy world duties. He frequently expresses frustration and impatience, particularly with the antics of his own party members, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness. A well-known pervert, he uses his Steal skill to take female characters underwear, peeps on classmates, and attempts to sneak into off-limits areas, actions that often draw discipline from the Disciplinary Committee. He is sarcastic, blunt, and champions what he calls true gender equality to justify retaliating against anyone regardless of gender. Despite these flaws, he shows underlying kindness and reliability in critical moments, such as protecting Ainz Ooal Gown and the guardians from Aqua's purification abilities.

Kazuma's primary motivation is typically self-preservation and the pursuit of a comfortable life. However, he secretly values the bonds he has formed, and his actions often reveal a protective instinct toward those he considers his own, even if he complains about them constantly. Within the story, he serves as a source of chaotic and perverted comic relief, with his schemes frequently backfiring or landing him in trouble. He serves on the Disciplinary Committee alongside Tanya von Degurechaff and Demiurge, a role he likely finds more terrifying than prestigious.

His key relationships are numerous and varied. With his original party from Konosuba, consisting of Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness, he expresses constant annoyance and embarrassment but demonstrates genuine care for them, feeling joy at receiving their Valentine's Day chocolates. He forms a rivalry with Subaru Natsuki based on their shared origins as isekai protagonists, though Kazuma envies what he perceives as Subaru's easier life. He fears Tanya and Demiurge as members of the Disciplinary Committee, though Tanya respects his usefulness. He develops a protective stance toward Ainz Ooal Gown and the guardians during confrontations with Aqua. After Vanir exposes Kazuma's perverted actions, Naofumi Iwatani develops a negative impression of him. He also shares a friendly yet teasing dynamic with Chris, who later warns him that death in this world is permanent.

Throughout the series, Kazuma evolves from a self-centered NEET to someone who values his relationships. In the crossover world, he transitions from reluctance to active participation in school activities, though he remains one of the few characters who actually prefers the school environment to his original world. His romantic subplot with Megumin progresses from mutual attraction to a committed relationship.

Statistically, Kazuma possesses average physical and magical capabilities but exceptionally high luck and above-average intelligence. His combat style relies on cunning, strategy, and opportunistic use of basic skills. His key abilities include Steal, a thief-class skill that takes a random item from a target, heavily influenced by his high luck stat; this frequently results in him stealing female underwear. He also uses Stealth, allowing near-undetectability, and Snipe, an archer-class skill granting high projectile accuracy that he applies using a slingshot in the school world. He further uses skills like Bind and basic elemental magic, though less prominently in Isekai Quartet.
