Chinatsu Akasaki
Description
Chinatsu Akasaki is a Japanese voice actress born on August 10, 1987, in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency 81 Produce. Her journey into voice acting began with a strong interest in performance from a young age. In junior high school, she was a member of both the basketball and broadcasting clubs. During her high school years, she joined a local civic theater troupe. After graduating, she attended Tokyo Gakugei University, where she studied theater.
Akasaki's professional career was launched after she won multiple awards, including the Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Award and the 81 Produce Award, at the Voice Newtype Summer Audition in 2008. This success led to her training at 81 Actor's Studio. She graduated from the training school in 2009 and officially became a member of 81 Produce in April 2010, making her debut in the anime world that same year.
Her early career saw her take on a variety of supporting roles, but her prominence grew significantly in 2012 with two key performances. She voiced Yasuna Oribe, one of the lead characters in the comedy series Kill Me Baby, and Shinka Nibutani in the popular series Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions. These roles showcased her comedic timing and her ability to bring distinct personalities to life, helping to solidify her reputation as a talented voice actress.
Throughout her career, Akasaki has demonstrated a wide vocal range, often playing energetic and comedic characters, sometimes described as having a "missing something" quality, but also taking on more serious and nuanced roles. Her expressive power and unique voice allow her to make her characters memorable, even in supporting capacities. Beyond animation, she has contributed to the music side of her roles, performing character songs for series such as Kill Me Baby, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, and Wasteful Days of High School Girl. Her work is not limited to television; she has also lent her voice to original video animations, films, and numerous video games.
Akasaki has formed long-standing connections with several anime franchises, voicing the same character across multiple seasons and adaptations. Notable examples of these recurring roles include:
Shinka Nibutani in the Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions series and its films.
Alice Nakiri across multiple seasons of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma.
Felt in Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- and its spin-off Isekai Quartet.
Mikoto Yamato (also known as Yamato Mikoto) in the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? series.
Saiai Kinuhata in the A Certain Scientific Railgun and A Certain Magical Index series.
Fukaziroh in the Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online series.
Lia Venegas in the Bakugan: Battle Planet franchise.
Her talent has been recognized with several prestigious awards early in her career, which served as a springboard into the industry. Her consistent work across a vast array of major anime productions, from long-running series to popular films, marks her as a highly active and in-demand figure in the industry.
