Description
Lia Venegas, a Chilean-American teenager, co-founds the Awesome Ones—later renamed the Awesome Brawlers—a group documenting discoveries through video content. Artistic, expressive, and confident, she acts as the team's filmmaker, carrying a camera to record Bakugan events, inspired by her mother’s news reporting career. Her energetic, unconventional thinking motivates teammates to explore talents through experimentation and empathy.
After the second Great Collision, she initially bonds with Gorthion as her guardian Bakugan before partnering with the Haos-aligned Pegatrix, an alicorn-like Bakugan characterized by strong will and a passion for uncovering beauty. Their partnership fosters mutual growth, reshaping their dynamic into an equal alliance. During this time, she befriends and comprehends Haos Cubbo despite early friction.
Her resilience emerges from facing individuals who targeted her for being different, resulting in a low tolerance for disrespect or slurs and a quick-tempered reaction. She extends this protectiveness to Bakugan, actively opposing thugs exploiting them for destruction. A critical incident sees her Bakugan forcibly unleashed by antagonist Kravitz’s technology, causing property damage and amplifying public distrust. She later reunites with them during a falling satellite crisis, aiding civilian evacuations and helping restore Bakugan's reputation.
In subsequent events, Pegatrix’s temporary unavailability leads Fenneca, another Haos-aligned Bakugan, to become her primary guardian. Throughout global efforts involving Core Cells and escalating threats, Lia maintains team leadership. Her confidence, distinct from arrogance, drives consistent fearlessness in conflict, refusing retreat even when caution seems prudent.
