Margarita Valderrama is a Colombian-Canadian voice actor, writer, and filmmaker known for her work in animation. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and was raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and Mexico City before moving to Toronto, Canada, where she has been based for over a decade. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto's Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies.
Valderrama is perhaps best known for providing the English voice of Lia Venegas in the Bakugan animated series. She voiced the character across multiple installments, including Bakugan: Battle Planet, Bakugan: Armored Alliance, and Bakugan: Legends. Another prominent voice role is that of Lime Chiffon in the animated series Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. Her voice work also extends to other children's animation, such as voicing the character Hayley Daily in Paw Patrol.
Beyond her performance work, Valderrama is also an accomplished writer. Her first short film script, Date Night, won the ACTRA Toronto Shorts Competition in 2019 and was selected for various film festivals across the United States and Canada. She has also participated in prestigious writing programs, including the Canadian Film Centre Norman Jewison Writers' Lab and the Reelworld Emerging 20 Film Writing Program.
