Description
Mika Kozuru is a supporting character from the anime Idol Incidents. She serves as the leader of the Subculture New Party and the lead member of the idol unit Mikarina, which she forms alongside Riina Mitsutake. She represents Kagoshima Prefecture as an idol politician, campaigning to influence government policy through the power of music. At seventeen years old, she has blue hair and blue eyes and stands 163 cm tall.
Her background is shaped by her parents, who worked in space development. This influence sparked a deep fascination with space, turning her into a space otaku. Her dream was to become an astronaut, but she suffers from extreme acrophobia, a severe fear of heights, which forced her to abandon that goal. Instead, she redirected her ambition toward the path of an idol politician, combining her interest in public service with her passion for performance. In everyday situations, she tends to be shy and reserved, but once she begins talking about space topics, she becomes animated and excited, often unable to stop.
Mika is motivated by a desire to change society’s views on the importance of music. She believes that music can bring people together and drive political change, and she uses her idol activities to spread that message. As a member of the National Idol Diet, she faces opposition from other politicians and even from members of her own party who doubt the effectiveness of music as a political tool. Despite these challenges, she remains determined and continues to fight for her cause, often delivering her message through song and dance.
Her key relationships include her partnership with Riina Mitsutake in the unit Mikarina, with whom she performs and campaigns. She also interacts with other idol representatives from various prefectures as part of the larger Idol Diet structure, though she primarily focuses on her own party’s platform. Over the course of the story, she demonstrates development in overcoming her initial shyness to confidently speak about her passions and engage in political discourse. Her notable abilities include her skills as an idol singer and dancer, which she uses to captivate audiences and convey her policy ideas, as well as her extensive knowledge of space and astronomy, which often surfaces in her conversations.
