Description
Gautama Siddhartha, born a prince in ancient Kapilavastu, Nepal, received a prophecy foretelling his destiny as a great world ruler. His worldview shifted dramatically after visiting his terminally ill relative, King Jataka of Malla. Jataka's regret over a life bound by duty without personal freedom, confessed shortly before his death, profoundly impacted Siddhartha. At Jataka's funeral, Siddhartha rejected tradition by sending the coffin down a river, symbolizing both Jataka's liberation and his own defiance of predetermined fate, marking the start of his enlightenment. He abandoned royalty, family, and possessions to wander in search of truth, ultimately founding Buddhism. During his travels, he actively opposed religious human sacrifice and challenged gods who harmed humans, vowing to fight such deities directly.

Centuries later, Buddha encountered Zerofuku, the God of Misfortune, who absorbed human suffering but failed to grant true happiness. Buddha criticized Zerofuku's approach, insisting happiness must be attained individually, not given, and offered him a path to enlightenment. Zerofuku rejected this offer and fled. Buddha later imparted the principle of "Common Destiny" to Brunhilde, the eldest Valkyrie. This principle allowed the fusion of a human soul and a Valkyrie into a divine weapon (Völundr), knowledge vital for humanity's survival during Ragnarok.

At the Gods' Council in Valhalla, where deities unanimously voted to eradicate humanity, Buddha witnessed Brunhilde propose Ragnarok – a tournament pitting 13 humans against 13 gods for mankind's survival. He was initially listed to fight for the gods. During the tournament's fifth round, Loki confronted Buddha, accusing him of betraying the gods by enabling the Valkyries' Völundr ability through "Common Destiny." Buddha openly declared his allegiance to humanity, leading to a standoff with Loki and the Seven Lucky Gods, halted only by the intervention of Zeus and Odin.

Before the sixth round, Zeus personally requested Buddha fight for the gods. Buddha questioned Zeus's desire to destroy humanity and, after a brief exchange, agreed to participate. However, he shocked all by entering the arena and declaring he would fight for humanity instead, invoking a loophole in the Valhalla Constitution. When Odin challenged this, Buddha asserted his autonomy with the phrase, "Above, below, I alone am honored." Enraged, the Seven Lucky Gods fused into Zerofuku as the gods' replacement combatant.

In his battle against Zerofuku, Buddha wielded the Six Realms Staff, a weapon changing form based on the user's emotions. Zerofuku's Misery Cleaver grew stronger by absorbing suffering, but Buddha countered using his "Awakened Arayashiki" ability – a sixth sense perceiving souls and predicting opponents' movements seconds ahead. Mid-fight, the demon Hajun emerged by consuming Zerofuku, destroying Buddha's staff and blinding his left eye. Buddha then awakened the Great Nirvana Sword Zero, a blade forged from Zerofuku's soul via "Common Destiny," enabling Hajun's defeat.

Buddha exhibits irreverence towards divine authority, treating figures like Zeus casually and refusing to share sweets with other gods. He frequently uses phrases like "Shaddap" and champions individual will over destiny, earning the title "History's Strongest Adolescent" from Brunhilde. His appearance features modern elements like a bunny-patterned tank top, rectangular glasses, and a lollipop, diverging from tradition. After losing his left eye, he wears an eyepatch.

Following Ragnarok, Buddha investigated the tournament's secrets. His relationships include a pragmatic alliance with Brunhilde, whom he nicknames "Brun-chan," and antagonism with the Seven Lucky Gods, whose names he deliberately forgets. His philosophy centers on self-determination, summarized in his credo: "The only one that can move me, on heaven or Earth, is me."
