Description
Ranto Kirigakure serves as the disciplined student council president of Y-Academy while attending as a second-year scholarship student. His cyan eyes and fair skin complement wavy black mid-length hair, typically secured in a folded ponytail by a hair clip, with bangs brushed right nearly obscuring his right eye. He wears the standard Y-Gakuen uniform: a blue jacket featuring green interior and sleeve cuffs, a white button-up shirt, blue pants, and unique black shoes with white bottoms adorned by lime green hourglass-like designs. A red student council band is perpetually visible on his left arm.
A traumatic childhood event defines his past: during a mountain road trip at age seven, his family was abducted by aliens called Grey Agents. He witnessed a circular flying object before a blinding light engulfed their car. Later, he saw his parents vanish into silhouetted corpses after abduction and observed his younger sister Marina taken by the same entity. Earth Walker intervened during his own attempted abduction, prompting his lifelong vow of revenge against the responsible aliens.
Before enrolling at Y-Academy, he relentlessly pursued UFO and alien intelligence. He formed a street gang to capture a thief in exchange for UFO data from reporter Yousuke Kimura and approached Kumako Kumoike with plans for a transformation watch based on recovered alien technology.
At Y-Academy, he founded and leads the UFO Research Club alongside his council duties. Initially skeptical of the YSP Club's activities, he warned them of potential disbandment due to perceived unproductiveness. His stance gradually softened, leading to collaboration and requests for their assistance by episode YG023.
He wields the Alien Watch, enabling transformations into enhanced forms: Mist Shadow (霧の影, Kiri no Kage) and Deep Shadow Galaxy (深影銀河, Shin'ei Ginga). Training under Zazel unlocked his Deep Shadow Zodiac (深影黄道, Shin'ei Kōdō) form. Proximity to the entity Kyryn allows access to Deep Shadow Ancient (深影古代, Shin'ei Kodai).
In episode YG035, transformed as Deep Shadow Galaxy, he sacrificed himself to shield fellow council members from antagonist Elzemekia's attack, resulting in apparent death. Episode YG037 revealed his survival; Nayu had substituted an android replica, which sustained the fatal injury.
He appears as a playable character in the spin-off game *Inazuma Eleven SD*, utilizing techniques like Dark Tornado, Zanzou, Shadow Burst, and Phantom Shoot. His in-game statistics prioritize kicking power and technical proficiency over defensive capabilities.
Despite his traumatic past, his personal interests steadfastly include UFO phenomena, historically reflected in his room's posters. His favorite food is Calorie Charge.
