Toshiki Masuda
Description
Toshiki Masuda is a Japanese voice actor and singer born on March 8, 1990, in Hiroshima Prefecture. His interest in voice acting began in high school after watching the anime series Code Geass and Gurren Lagann, which inspired him to pursue a career in the industry. In 2008, he moved to Tokyo and enrolled in the broadcasting department of the Tokyo Announce Gakuin Performing Arts College to study voice acting.
Masuda's career started in 2009 when he was cast as Seiichi Yukimura in the Musical The Prince of Tennis, marking his debut as an actor. In September 2010, he shifted his focus to voice acting and transferred to the voice actor division of his agency at the time, Space Craft. His first regular role in an anime series came in 2011 when he voiced Ryōga Kamishiro in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.
Throughout his career, Masuda has built an extensive filmography with several prominent and recurring roles. He is widely recognized for voicing Eijirō Kirishima in the long-running series My Hero Academia, a role he has played since 2016 across multiple seasons and animated films. He also voices Iori Izumi in the IDOLiSH7 franchise, Chikara Ennoshita in Haikyu!!, and Rei Sakuma in Ensemble Stars!. Other significant roles include Kazuki Nishina in the Pretty Rhythm and King of Prism series, Ryū Zaō in Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!, and Sirius Dieke in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!. He has also taken on roles in major productions such as Porco Galliard in Attack on Titan: The Final Season and Chris Redgrave in High Card.
In July 2018, Masuda left his long-time agency Space Craft Entertainment and became a freelancer. Shortly after, in November 2018, he joined the record label and talent agency Toy's Factory. This move also marked the beginning of his solo music career; he released his debut extended play, This One, in March 2019. His music career has continued with the release of studio albums such as Diver in 2020 and origin in 2021. His song Midnight Dancer was used as the opening theme for the anime Love of Kill.
Throughout his career, Masuda has also been part of notable collaborations. He formed the unit MaxBoys with fellow voice actor Yoshimasa Hosoya in 2012, which originated from their radio show and released CDs. His work spans not only anime but also video games, drama CDs, and dubbing for foreign films. He continues to be active in the industry, with roles announced in upcoming projects for 2025 and beyond.
