Description
Sirius Dieke, first known as the Magic Academy’s poised student council president, harbors a fractured identity as Rafael Walt—the illegitimate son of Marquis Dieke and a maid. After a childhood marked by poverty with his mother, his life fractured when the marquis’s wife attempted a dark ritual to transplant her dying son Sirius’s soul into Rafael’s body. The ritual collapsed, killing the original Sirius but leaving Rafael alive, burdened with both his own consciousness and Sirius’s memories. Forced to replace the deceased heir, Rafael’s past was erased, and he was molded into a counterfeit noble.

The failed ritual awakened Rafael’s latent dark magic, fueling his seething hatred for the marquis’s family. This power let him twist minds, erase memories, and inflict madness, though it corroded his emotions. As student council president, he cloaked his turmoil behind charm and intellect, praised for academic brilliance and deft tea ceremonies. Yet paranoia drove him to covertly manipulate peers, even targeting Catarina Claes when her empathy risked unraveling his lies.

Catarina’s unyielding kindness unearthed Rafael’s buried memories of his mother’s affection, fracturing his vengeful resolve. Confronted by this clarity, he shattered the dark magic’s hold, confessing his crimes and discarding the Sirius persona. Surrendering to justice, he joined the Ministry of Magic under Suzanna Randall, dedicating himself to studying dark magic’s dangers, mentoring proteges like Rufus Brode, and seeking redemption through ethical scholarship.

Rafael’s journey traces a jagged arc from vengeance-driven torment to guarded atonement. His magic spans wind elemental control, corrosive dark spells, and extrasensory perception—a skill detecting and influencing magical energies. His poised facade once masked seething trauma from his mother’s loss and the suffocating lie of his identity. Post-redemption, he embraces a subdued, contemplative life, prioritizing research and guiding others away from dark magic’s lure.

Central bonds define his path: Catarina’s compassion, which destabilized his schemes and reignited his humanity; the marquis family’s lingering shadow, fraught with betrayal and loss; and his mentorship of Rufus, reflecting his resolve to prevent others from repeating his descent. Once a puppet of vengeance, Rafael now navigates a fragile peace, balancing the weight of his past with the quiet labor of reparation.
