Description
Emilio Ranguhaimu is the 16-year-old prince of the subterranean world of Endra, a realm located beneath the surface of the Earth. As the heir to the throne, his life is dramatically shaped by the rule of the current monarch, King Deruzain. Emilio was originally the king’s foster son, and in his younger years, he sincerely looked up to Deruzain as a parental figure. This perception was shattered when he accidentally overheard palace maids discussing the truth: the king he admired had actually murdered his biological father to seize the throne. Stricken by this revelation, his feelings of respect transformed into an all-consuming hatred and a singular desire for vengeance.

In terms of personality, Emilio is presented as a reserved and intense individual. He rarely shows his emotions openly, which makes him appear much more mature and brooding than many of his peers. His demeanor is largely defined by the weight of his tragic past and his obsession with revenge against Deruzain. He is strong-willed, determined to the point of recklessness, and initially very reluctant to trust others, viewing potential allies through a pragmatic and often cynical lens.

Emilio’s primary motivation is to exact revenge on the man who killed his father. On his 16th birthday, the age at which he is legally eligible to assume the throne, he attempts to assassinate King Deruzain. Armed with a weapon, he storms the castle but is quickly and overwhelmingly defeated, resulting in his capture and imprisonment. His role in the story becomes intertwined with that of the series other main protagonist, Shun Asanaga, a boy from the surface world who mysteriously appears inside his prison cell. This marks the beginning of a journey where Emilio must navigate his quest for revenge alongside this unexpected arrival from another world.

Emilio’s key relationships are central to his character development. His bond with Shun Asanaga begins on shaky ground; Emilio initially views the surface-dweller as a convenient pawn to further his own revenge plot. However, as they spend time together and face numerous challenges, a complex and grudging friendship forms. Despite frequently arguing and clashing with Shun, Emilio grows to rely on him, and the two become close companions, with Emilio often rushing to Shun’s aid when he is in danger. His most significant and tormented relationship is with his foster father, King Deruzain, the target of his revenge. Another important figure in his past is Pascal, a friend and educator from the palace whom Emilio deeply trusted before Pascal was cast out. Conversely, he shares a connection with Alicia, a childhood friend who gets drawn into his adventure.

Throughout the story, Emilio undergoes notable development. He starts as a solitary figure driven purely by a thirst for vengeance and a desire to reclaim his kingdom. His interactions with Shun, who comes from a completely different world and possesses a more optimistic outlook, slowly begin to change him. He learns to open up, forms a genuine friendship based on mutual trust, and his worldview expands beyond the singular goal of revenge. Even though he remains focused on confronting the king, his journey becomes one about more than just hatred.

In terms of abilities, Emilio is a proficient combatant, specifically wielding a spear as his chosen weapon. This weapon is named Katakaragu, a type of "treasure tool" or "manifested treasure" (often referred to as "Kahogu") known for its extreme sharpness and high attack damage, befitting his combative and direct personality. He is also shown to be resourceful and capable in a fight, having prepared for his confrontation with the king despite ultimately being overpowered.
