Description
"B-PROJECT: Zecchō Emotion" is a 2019 anime series that serves as a sequel to the 2016 anime "B-PROJECT: Kodō*Ambitious." The story revolves around the idol groups managed by the fictional entertainment company Gandala Music, focusing on the three units under the B-PROJECT label: Kitakore, THRIVE, and MooNs. The narrative centers on the challenges and growth of these idol groups as they navigate the competitive world of the music industry, balancing their personal struggles with their professional aspirations.

The protagonist, Tsubaki Sumisora, is a new A&R (Artists and Repertoire) manager assigned to oversee the B-PROJECT groups. Tsubaki’s role is to support the idols, mediate conflicts, and ensure their success. Her dedication and empathy gradually earn the trust of the members, who initially view her with skepticism due to her inexperience. As the series progresses, Tsubaki becomes a crucial figure in helping the groups overcome internal and external obstacles, including rivalries, creative differences, and the pressures of fame.

Each idol group has distinct personalities and dynamics. Kitakore, consisting of Ryōji Kikuchihara, Kenta Ōyama, and Shūgo Mikado, is known for their playful and energetic performances. THRIVE, made up of Kōji Gokō, Hikaru Osari, and Yūta Hibiki, is characterized by their polished professionalism and ambition. MooNs, the most established group, includes Yūta Asagi, Kōtarō Bessho, and others, who face the challenge of maintaining their popularity while evolving their sound and image.

The plot delves into the personal lives and struggles of the idols, exploring themes such as self-doubt, the pursuit of dreams, and the importance of teamwork. Key story arcs include Kitakore’s efforts to create a unique identity, THRIVE’s quest to surpass their rivals, and MooNs’ struggle to adapt to changing industry trends. The series also highlights the relationships between the groups, showcasing moments of camaraderie and competition.

"B-PROJECT: Zecchō Emotion" incorporates musical performances as a central element, with each episode featuring original songs that reflect the groups’ growth and emotions. The anime balances drama with lighthearted moments, providing a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes world of idol culture. The narrative emphasizes the importance of perseverance, collaboration, and staying true to oneself, making it a compelling exploration of the challenges faced by those in the entertainment industry.
