Description
Akane Fudō is a central character in B-PROJECT Passion*Love Call, known for his role as the leader of the junior idol unit KiLLER KiNG. Standing at 165 centimeters tall with a strong, athletic build, he has short, wavy orange hair, orange eyes with subtle blue undertones, and a slightly darker complexion compared to his unit members. He was born on October 30th, has O blood type, and is often seen wearing sporty clothing such as hoodies, which reflects his active and energetic lifestyle.

Akane’s background is rooted in a disciplined and traditional environment. After his mother passed away at a young age, he was raised by his grandfather, who runs a judo dojo. It was there that Akane developed a strong foundation in martial arts, eventually earning a black belt in judo. This upbringing also led to a pivotal childhood friendship when a shy boy named Miroku Shingari came to the dojo. Akane was immediately intrigued by Miroku, and the two became inseparable. Their shared dream of becoming idols began when they saw a children's talent show on television. While Miroku was hesitant, Akane’s enthusiasm convinced them both to audition for the talent agency Bambi, commuting from Shizuoka to Tokyo for their training.

Personality-wise, Akane is defined by a striking duality between his bright, external demeanor and his deep-seated insecurities. On the surface, he is the embodiment of a positive and action-oriented leader. He is impulsive and acts on his instincts, possessing an unmatched enthusiasm that naturally draws people to him and motivates his group. His friendly and gentle nature makes him highly approachable, and he is always among the first to offer help to anyone in need. He has a strong sense of chivalry and cares deeply about making his fans smile. However, this cheerful exterior masks a fragile interior. Akane harbors significant feelings of inferiority, stemming from his trainee days at Bambi. He was originally slated to debut as a member of the now hugely popular group Thrive, but their producer deemed him unsuitable at the last moment, replacing him. This rejection left a lasting wound, creating a constant fear of not being good enough. As a result, he pushes himself relentlessly, has a complex about his short stature and dislikes being teased about it, and often feels that no matter how hard he tries, he will never catch up to his former peers in Thrive.

Within the story, Akane’s primary motivation is to lead KiLLER KiNG to success and prove his own worth, both to himself and to others. His role as the oldest member of his unit is crucial, as he acts as the driving force that pulls Yuduki and Haruhi forward. His development involves learning to confront his past disappointments and channel his determination into his present group without being consumed by his rivalry with the past.

Akane’s relationships are central to his character. His bond with Miroku is the most significant, forged over ten years of friendship, judo training, and shared dreams. They know each other intimately, having been each other's motivation since childhood. Their relationship is not without its complexities, as they both carry regrets about the Thrive incident, yet their connection remains unbreakable. Another key relationship is with Tsubasa Sumisora, the A&R staff member. With her, Akane feels completely at ease, often dropping his mature leader facade to act more childlike and occasionally reckless in an attempt to appear cool. He becomes shy and blushes easily when she compliments him, and he constantly worries about her health and workload, buying her small gifts or wanting to cook for her. There are many hints that he harbors unconscious romantic feelings for her, seeing her as someone who holds a very special place in his heart.

Notable abilities aside from his idol performance include his physical prowess. His training in judo has given him great endurance and a strong physique, making him surprisingly powerful for his height. He is also known for his insistence on performing his own stunts, driven by his desire to give his absolute best in every endeavor, such as during action film shoots.
