Yūto Uemura is a Japanese voice actor and actor born on October 23, 1993, in Saitama Prefecture. He is affiliated with the Himawari Theatre Group, a talent agency known for representing both child actors and seasoned performers. Uemura began his entertainment career as a child actor at the age of four, starting in 1999, and made his voice acting debut in 2002, providing the voice for the title character in the film Bonobono: Kumomo no Ki no Koto. He is a graduate of Chuo University.

Uemura's career is marked by a wide range of leading and supporting roles in prominent anime series. One of his most notable and enduring roles is that of Atsushi Nakajima, the protagonist of the long-running series Bungo Stray Dogs, a part he has played since 2016 across multiple seasons and a film. He gained further recognition for his portrayal of the complex lead character Thorfinn in the acclaimed historical epic Vinland Saga. Another significant early lead role was Hiro in the original science fiction series DARLING in the FRANXX in 2018.

His filmography demonstrates versatility across genres. He has voiced determined protagonists in sports anime, such as Minato Narumiya in Tsurune, a series about archery that began in 2018 and continued with a film and second season, and Minato Kiyomizu in the water polo series RE-MAIN. He also played Jōji Kizuki in the critically acclaimed running series Run with the Wind. In fantasy and action titles, his roles include Yuliy in Sirius the Jaeger, Soraya in Drifting Dragons, and Yūsuke Yotsuya in I'm Standing on 1,000,000 Lives. Uemura has also made significant contributions to long-running shonen franchises, voicing Tamaki Amajiki in My Hero Academia across multiple seasons and a film, Motoya Komori in Haikyu!! To The Top, and Shun Nitta in the reboot of Captain Tsubasa.

Beyond his primary roles, Uemura has taken on a variety of characters in other notable series. These include Nero in Cestvs: The Roman Fighter, Fred Porlock in Moriarty the Patriot, Kiriya Nouzen in 86, Kazuna Masunaga in B-Project, Haku Rei in Kingdom, Light Tenryū in Shadowverse Flame, Yukito Yanagi in Ayaka: A Story of Bonds and Wounds, and Keith Powell in Sugar Apple Fairy Tale. He also had early roles, such as the young Johan in Monster.

In addition to his voice acting work, Uemura is also active as a singer and is a member of the vocal unit SparQlew under the Kiramune music label. He holds several unique qualifications, including a teacher's license for junior high and high school Japanese, a third-degree rank in kendo, and a first-grade Bread Sommelier certification, reflecting a deep interest in bread-making. Uemura announced his marriage on March 16, 2024.
