Description
Allen is the main protagonist of the story, a young man of seventeen years who finds himself at a crossroads after failing the crucial examination to become a court sorcerer. This failure, however, leads him to a new path as he accepts a position as a private tutor for Tina Howard, the daughter of a powerful duke. Allen is an orphan who was discovered and raised by a loving family from the wolf beastfolk clan, a background that has profoundly shaped his identity and worldview.

In terms of appearance, Allen is described as having short, almond-colored hair and red eyes. He is of average height and build, with what he and others might consider unremarkable features, a perception that contrasts sharply with his extraordinary inner abilities. His typical attire includes a long black coat with a high collar, worn over a vest and dress shirt. Despite his common origins, he has an intelligence and capability that allow him to move within the highest echelons of noble society, even if he never feels entirely comfortable with its wealth and formal etiquette.

Personality-wise, Allen is defined by a profound and almost overwhelming humility. He is a kind and gentle individual who is always willing to help those in need, often at great personal risk. Despite being an exceptionally talented sorcerer, he genuinely believes his abilities are average and that anyone could achieve what he does through sufficient effort, a claim that others find completely disconnected from reality. He is remarkably self-deprecating, to the point where his close friends consider it his greatest flaw. While he is patient and can tolerate insults directed at himself, he becomes fiercely aggressive and protective when his students, friends, or family are threatened or disrespected. As a tutor, he is supportive and takes genuine delight in observing the growth and development of his students, though he also possesses a playful and slightly teasing side, especially with those who react strongly to his jokes.

Allen's magical abilities are considerable and unique. He is highly skilled in summoning magical creatures and demonstrates mastery over all elemental types of magic at least up to the intermediate level. His most notable and rare talent, however, is his extraordinary control over mana. This allows him to perform a psychic link by connecting his own mana with that of another person, which lets him sense their thoughts, feelings, and magical potential, and even take control of their mana to stop a dangerous outburst. This unique ability has led him to be known as the Brain of the Lady of the Sword, a title referencing his strategic partnership with his close friend, Lydia Leinster. There are also deeper layers to his power, as he is later identified as a Key, a being destined to break ancient curses and restore cosmic order.

Allen's relationships form the core of his story. He shares a deep and complex bond with Lydia Leinster, a noblewoman known as the Lady of the Sword. They were classmates at the Royal Academy where he tutored her, and they graduated at the top of their class together. Their partnership is one of brains and brawn, with Allen as the calm, rational planner to Lydia's bold and powerful combat prowess. His primary role is as the private tutor to Tina Howard, a girl who cannot cast spells despite having immense magical reserves. Through patience and his unique abilities, he helps her unlock her potential, which leads Tina to develop a deep admiration and romantic feelings for him. He also tutors Ellie Walker, the granddaughter of the Howard family's head butler, and later Lynne Leinster, Lydia's younger sister. Despite being a chick magnet who effortlessly gathers the affection of the girls around him, Allen remains a chaste hero, showing little to no romantic awareness or preference, much to their frustration. He was also bullied as a child for being a human among beastfolk and later for being a commoner at the academy, experiences that contribute to his modest demeanor.

Throughout the story, Allen's role evolves from a failed examinee and reluctant tutor into a central figure of immense importance. His success in teaching Tina and Ellie and getting them into the Royal Academy is only the beginning. He faces opposition from jealous nobles, including Prince Gerard, who hold a grudge against him. He becomes a trusted figure in both the Howard and Leinster ducal houses, eventually taking on significant responsibilities such as leading a joint commercial enterprise. Allen's development is a gradual process of accepting his own worth and power. While he remains deeply humble, his actions and the trust placed in him by powerful families force him to step out of the shadows. He moves from being a person who was rejected by the establishment to becoming a key player in the kingdom's future, driven not by ambition, but by his genuine desire to help his students and protect those he cares about.
