Description
Narciso Anasui serves a 12-year sentence for first-degree murder at Green Dolphin Street Prison. His criminal path began with a childhood obsession for disassembly, taking apart pocket watches and toys. This compulsion escalated at age 10 when he dismantled a neighbor's Porsche and a high-voltage telephone pole, leading to six months of institutionalization. Years later, discovering his girlfriend with another man, Anasui disassembled both to ensure they would "never come together again."

He possesses above-average height, an athletic build, and distinctive pink hair. His signature attire is a mesh garment with diagonal fishnet-like stripes, featuring prominent footprint designs on the chest reflecting his Stand ability. His visual design shifted significantly during initial publication, evolving from a feminine to a masculine appearance; creator Hirohiko Araki attributed this change to a desire to "go beyond normal standards of beauty."

Anasui commands the Stand Diver Down, capable of phasing through solid matter to manipulate internal structures. Its key abilities include storing kinetic energy within objects for later release, rearranging biological anatomy (such as restructuring limbs into springs), and embedding attacks beneath surfaces. Diver Down manifests as a humanoid Stand with graded statistics: Strength A, Speed A, Range E, Durability C, Precision B, and Development Potential B.

Personality-wise, Anasui exhibits limited empathy, rarely considering others' wellbeing and described as "the type of person that doesn't help other people." Prison warnings note unpredictable volatility without Weather Report's calming presence. He demonstrates specialized knowledge in mechanics and plumbing, recalling obscure technical details. His psychological profile suggests abandonment issues and emotional detachment, potentially linked to childhood neglect. Despite generally antisocial behavior, he shows fierce loyalty to specific individuals.

His character development centers on an obsessive love for Jolyne Cujoh, whom he meets through Emporio Alniño. Learning of her mission against Enrico Pucci, Anasui becomes her self-appointed protector, driven by admiration for her determination to save her father. This devotion manifests in repeated life-risking acts: during the Green Baby incident, he phased Diver Down into Jolyne to remove parasitic flowers, tasting the infected plants to analyze them. He later offered his corpse as a vessel for Jotaro Kujo's memory disc if necessary for Jolyne's success.

Key narrative actions include neutralizing Kenzou in the Dragon's Dream confrontation by restructuring the assassin's legs. He later mutated Guccio into a living trap against D an G, repurposing the prisoner's ribs as weapons. Pursued by Yo-Yo Ma, he unwillingly collaborated with the automated Stand to navigate swamps and evade guards. His pre-existing friendship with Weather Report proved significant; Anasui reacted with visible horror when Weather regained memories and acted violently. After Weather's death, Anasui delivered a monologue acknowledging his murderer label while expressing willingness to sacrifice himself for "something that revived him," referencing Jolyne's impact on his previously aimless existence.

In the final Cape Canaveral standoff against Pucci, Anasui sustained severe injuries—crushed under a truck and sliced open—before being killed during Made in Heaven's time acceleration. Following the universe reset, he reemerged as Annakiss, a hitchhiker planning marriage with Jolyne's counterpart, Irene.
