Yanelly Sandoval

Description
Yanelly Sandoval is a Mexican voice actress and dubbing director known for her work on anime series and films in Latin American Spanish. Her career in the dubbing industry began by the late 1990s or early 2000s. She was notably the first Spanish voice actress to dub actress Sarah Michelle Gellar in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Within the anime genre, Sandoval has voiced several prominent characters. She is recognized as the voice of Helen, a powerful warrior, in the series Claymore. She also provided the voice for Ayame Sarutobi, also known as the "Monkey Girl" and a member of the Oniwabanshu, in the long-running series Gintama. In the acclaimed Studio Ghibli film The Wind Rises, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, she voiced the female lead, Nahoko Satomi.

Sandoval is particularly noted for her role as Misato Katsuragi in the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. She voiced the character in the original Mexican dubbing of the first two films in the tetralogy: Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. Her performance in these films came about after the series' original voice actress was unable to reach a financial agreement for the new productions. For the third film, the role was recast with a different actress, in part because Sandoval was residing in Cuernavaca at the time.
