Description
Masaya Wado is the Director of the Bio Division at Doji Group Industries and serves as a secondary antagonist in the Witchblade anime series. He has a long-standing history with Reiji Takayama, having known and competed with him since their college years when they were members of a rowing team together. Wado's primary motivation is to obtain the Witchblade, and he constantly vies with Takayama for authority and recognition within the company. His personality is marked by arrogance, ambition, and an obsessive drive to surpass his rival, often leading him to act without fully considering the wider consequences of his schemes.
Within the story, Wado functions as a corporate antagonist who creates obstacles for the main characters, particularly through his secret research and development efforts. When the Witchblade, worn by Masane Amaha, returns to Doji Group Industries, Wado's jealousy toward Takayama intensifies. This prompts him to conduct unauthorized experiments in an attempt to create a weapon that can rival the Witchblade, culminating in the creation of the Ultimateblade.
