Audrey Le Bihan
Description
Audrey Le Bihan is a French voice actress known primarily for her work in the dubbing of Japanese anime series and films for the French market. Her career in animation voice-over began in the early 2000s, a period that saw a significant expansion of anime distribution in France. Le Bihan pursued formal acting training, studying at the conservatoire in the 15th arrondissement of Paris with Liza Viet before attending the Ecole Supérieure d'Art Dramatique (ESAD) under the direction of J-C Cotillard. Her entry into dubbing came through a friend from her acting classes who suggested she accompany him to a session for a Japanese animation project, noting that she had a funny voice. She passed the auditions and was immediately cast in lead roles for manga adaptations.
Le Bihan is best known for providing the French voice of the young fox demon Shippo, a central character in the popular and long-running series InuYasha. She voiced the character not only throughout the main television series but also in the first two theatrical films, InuYasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time and InuYasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass. Another significant role from this early period was Pacifica Casull, the titular character in the fantasy series Scrapped Princess. She also voiced Skuld, the youngest of the three goddess sisters, in the film Ah! My Goddess: The Movie.
Throughout the 2000s, Le Bihan built a diverse portfolio of roles in several major anime properties. In the action-comedy series Full Metal Panic! and its spin-off Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, she voiced Kyoko Tokiwa, the best friend of the female lead. She also played a dual role of sorts in the supernatural series R.O.D -The TV-, where she voiced the character Anita King. In D.N.Angel, she took on the role of Riku Harada, one of the two main heroines. Her other anime work from this era includes a role in the science fiction series Coyote Ragtime Show as Chelsea Muir. Later credits include the character Ikumi Akagi in the 2024 series Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus.
In addition to her extensive anime work, Le Bihan has pursued a career in live-action dubbing, providing French voices for characters in numerous American and international television series. Her credits in this field include roles in 13 Reasons Why, Shameless (US), Evil, 9-1-1, Chicago Fire, and The New Pope. She has also remained active in stage performance, participating in play readings and theatrical productions, including work with the MONA collective dedicated to contemporary writing.
