Throughout her decades-long career, she has built an extensive portfolio, lending her voice to a wide array of characters in anime, video games, and OVAs.
Neya is recognized for her versatility, frequently portraying strong-willed and mature women, though her range also extends to energetic young girls and four-dimensional characters. While she has had few lead roles, she is highly regarded as a prolific and reliable supporting actress, earning a reputation as a "silent strongman" in the industry for her consistent and high-quality performances. Some of her most iconic and career-defining roles include Melissa Mao in the Full Metal Panic! series, Riza Hawkeye in the 2003 adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist, and Talho Yuki in Eureka Seven. Beyond these signature roles, her filmography is remarkably deep. She has voiced Jun the Swan in Gatchaman 94, Ritsuko Takahashi in Hell Teacher Nube, and Doll Izumi in Super Doll Licca-chan. She has also taken on roles in long-running and popular franchises, such as乙姫 (Otohime) and Vinsmoke Reiju in One Piece, as well as various characters in Detective Conan. In the video game world, she is well-known for voicing Sophitia in the Soulcalibur series and Natalia in Tales of the Abyss.
Neya has also demonstrated her range through voice acting in foreign film dubs, including providing the Japanese voice for Neve Campbell in several of her films and for Cameron Diaz in My Best Friend's Wedding. Her career has shown remarkable longevity, continuing to take on new roles in each decade since her debut, with credits in the 2020s including Pokémon (2019) and My Hero Academia. She is noted to have a long-standing friendship with fellow voice actor Keiji Fujiwara, with whom she frequently collaborated.
