TV-Series
Description
Delphine Eraclea is the formidable leader of the Guild and serves as the primary antagonist of the series. Born in the Guild year 641, she is 24 years old during the events of the story and holds the supreme title of Maestro. Her position grants her absolute authority over the Guild, a powerful and technologically advanced organization that manipulates the conflicts between the nations of Anatoray and Disith. She is also the older sister of Dio Eraclea, a relationship that defines much of her personal cruelty.

As a character, Delphine is defined by her profound cruelty, arrogance, and sadism. She possesses a heartless and decadent nature, viewing the ordinary people of the world as little more than vermin to be played with for her amusement. She derives genuine pleasure from the misery and suffering of others, often smiling most when witnessing death and chaos. Her personality is that of a capricious tyrant who eliminated the other noble houses of the Guild, including her own parents, to seize absolute power for herself. This ruthless pursuit of domination extends to her personal relationships, most notably with her brother Dio, whom she has psychologically tormented to the point where he lives in terror of her. She employs a veritable arsenal of psychological weapons, enjoying the confusion and fear she instills in her victims.

Delphine's primary motivation is the acquisition of absolute power, which she believes is embodied in the ancient vessel known as Exile. She seeks to possess the truth that wanders the Grand Stream and is determined that no one else should witness it. Her role in the story is to serve as the central obstacle that the protagonists must overcome. She perpetuates a horrific, bloody war by sabotaging peace treaties and targeting civilian ships, all while indulging in lavish meals prepared with wasteful, life-costly ingredients. Her actions are the direct cause of a deep-seated vendetta from Alexander Row, the captain of the Silvana, who seeks to personally kill her for a traumatic incident in their past. Her machinations drive the plot forward as she kidnaps the young Alvis Hamilton to unlock Exile's secrets and captures Alexander Row to force him to recite the sacred Mysteria.

Her key relationships are defined by manipulation and enmity. She is the object of Alexander Row's sole purpose for living: vengeance. She holds power over her terrified brother Dio, using mind games and disturbing control to keep him subservient. She treats her subordinates, such as the loyal Cicada and the devoted Lucciola, as disposable tools. When Lucciola attempts to secure Dio's freedom, Delphine feigns interest in his plea before callously disintegrating him with her ring, finding beauty in the shimmering remains of his death. Even in her moments of triumph, such as when she has Alexander Row crucified and tortured on her flagship bridge, her arrogance does not waver. She forces him to recite the Mysteria under the influence of a truth serum extracted from rose thorns, demonstrating both her love for theatrical cruelty and her reliance on her powerful position rather than personal combat ability.

Despite her immense power and oppressive influence, Delphine meets her end when her arrogance finally fails her. She does not possess any significant combative power of her own, relying instead on her loyal subordinates and her authority. However, she does wield golden rings capable of disintegrating people, turning them into golden shards or ashes. In the end, Alexander Row, even while bound and tortured by her rose vines, manages to break her neck with his bare hands, finally ending her bloodstained rule. Her death marks the breaking of the Guild's absolute control over the world.
