TV-Series
Description
Agnès Chevalier de Milan serves as captain of the Tristain Musketeer Knights, protecting Queen Henrietta and executing vital missions. Her childhood ended when fire mages destroyed her village, D'Angleterre, due to plague rumors; she alone survived. This forged her deep distrust of magic users, particularly fire mages. Despite her commoner origins, she holds fierce loyalty to Henrietta, who granted her title and position.
Her driving purpose is to uncover and avenge her village's destruction. Initially targeting Lishman as the perpetrator, she kills him during a mission with Henrietta. Documents later reveal the burning was ordered by a military task force to contain the alleged plague, shifting her suspicion to its vice-captain. During an attack on the academy, this vice-captain names the true leader: "Flame Snake."
Agnès's pursuit intensifies upon learning Flame Snake's identity: Jean Colbert, an academy teacher. She attempts to kill him but hesitates, recalling he was the stranger who saved her from the burning years before. Colbert admits his role and remorse, offering his life. Agnès nearly executes him before others fake his death. Though consumed by hatred, she ultimately chooses not to kill him, recognizing perpetuating violence would harm his students. She states she will never forgive him but provides troops for his mission to rescue Tabitha, committing to end the cycle.
Professionally, Agnès trains students at Tristain Academy of Magic in combat, stressing mages must not rely solely on magic. She later mentors Saito after he loses his Gandálfr powers, teaching him swordsmanship to protect Louise despite his initial reluctance, showcasing her pragmatic duty beyond personal grievances.
Physically, Agnès possesses dark blonde hair and cyan eyes, typically seen in military attire including capes, thigh-high boots, and fingerless gloves. Her demeanor is disciplined and stern, though she occasionally shows openness around trusted individuals like Henrietta and Saito. Rumors about her sexuality exist, though unsupported by evidence.
