TV-Series
Description
Kriem is a member of the criminal NEXT organization Ouroboros and the devoted girlfriend of the incarcerated Jake Martinez. As a NEXT herself, she possesses the rare ability to animate and control inanimate objects by inserting strands of her hair into them, effectively turning toys such as the Mad Bears into remote-operated weapons. Her past is marked by profound rejection: as a child, she was treated as an outsider and made to feel worthless, and her parents, ashamed and fearful of their own daughter, later refused to pay a ransom after she was kidnapped by Jake. That traumatic abandonment cemented her loyalty to Jake and to the cause of creating a world where NEXT would dominate.

In the story, Kriem orchestrates a large-scale terrorist attack on Sternbild City, deploying an army of power-suit wearing Mad Bears to hold the civilian population hostage and demand Jake’s release from prison. She acts with cold efficiency and unwavering dedication, motivated not only by her belief in NEXT supremacy but above all by her love for Jake. Her relationship with him defines her entire existence; she sees him as the one person who gave her a place to belong, and she is willing to sacrifice everything for him.

After Jake is defeated and killed, Kriem’s role shifts in a brief but significant way. While hospitalized, she speaks with Barnaby Brooks Jr., who seeks the truth about his parents’ murder. Kriem reveals that Jake was not the killer, offering a crucial piece of information that sets Barnaby on a new path. Immediately afterward, she dies by deliberately disconnecting her own life-support equipment, choosing not to continue living without Jake. This final act shows a flicker of something beyond blind devotion: an awareness of the larger truth and a gesture, however small, that aids the heroes’ investigation. Her death ends her character arc on a somber, self-determined note, closing the tragedy of a woman who found purpose only in a destructive love and a violent dream.
