Description
Doll Izumi is a character from the anime Super Doll Licca-chan, where she serves as one of the three primary Doll Knights dedicated to protecting the protagonist, Licca Kayama. She is the second knight to be introduced in the series.

In terms of background, Doll Izumi originates from the Fantasy Kingdom, also known as the Doll Kingdom, a realm from which fairy tales originate and where the royal family Licca descends from. Her design reflects the fantasy aesthetic common to natives of this kingdom. Her ownership is first established with a character named Catherine, who initially summons Doll Izumi anonymously to support Licca. After Catherine loses the necessary summoning item, the Calling Choker, it is obtained by Sumire Shinohara, who becomes Doll Izumi's primary summoner for the majority of the story.

Doll Izumi is visually characterized by her purple hair, a trait that aligns with certain character tropes associating that color with power. She has purple eyes and appears to be an adult. Her weapon in battle is a specialized baton called the Light Circle, which she can throw like a boomerang or use to fire energy-based attacks such as capture rings or whips. Her activation is triggered by a magical incantation, specifically the phrase Fururu Furora Gurine Guraine, which is performed by the wearer of the Calling Choker accessory.

Regarding her personality and role, Doll Izumi is characterized by her unwavering loyalty to the royal family of the Doll Kingdom and her dedication to her protective duties. She functions as an Action Girl, regularly engaging in combat to rescue Licca from various antagonists, including the villainous Professor Scarecrow and later the more powerful demoness Misty. Compared to her fellow knights Doll Licca and Doll Isamu, Doll Izumi receives less narrative focus and individual development, sometimes being described as a flat character within the trio. Her dynamic with her owner Sumire Shinohara reflects a Light Feminine and Dark Feminine pairing, with the shy and insecure Sumire contrasting with the stronger Doll Izumi.

Throughout the story, Doll Izumi fights alongside her fellow knights using her ranged attacks, which contrasts with the melee-focused swordplay of Doll Isamu, though both serve as protectors. Her abilities are consistently portrayed across the series and its associated movie, Super Doll Licca-chan: Licca-chan Zettaizetsumei! Doll Knights no Kiseki. In a major battle against the antagonist Misty, Doll Izumi is frozen in ice by the villain's powerful magic, demonstrating that even the Doll Knights can be overwhelmed by superior foes. Despite her limited individual focus, she remains a consistent and reliable member of Licca's core group of allies throughout the series.
