Description
Volken Macmani served as a third-grade Armed Librarian within the Bantorra Library, identified by his green hair and clad in the order's traditional robes. This green hair signified his innate magical ability to generate lifelike illusions manifesting as multiple clones of himself. These illusions formed the core of his combat style, disorienting opponents while he attacked with his primary weapons: razor-sharp, bladed discs controlled telekinetically. He demonstrated exceptional agility by maneuvering or standing atop these discs mid-battle. His approach combined rapid movement between illusory duplicates with coordinated assaults from the discs, creating a barrage that obscured real from deceptive elements. This combination made him a formidable combatant despite his rank, with assessments indicating skill sufficient for the Armed Librarians' highest levels.

An orphan raised by the Armed Librarians, Volken developed profound respect for their code under the mentorship of previous Acting Director, Fotona Badgammon. Fotona specifically cultivated Volken's unwavering, deeply held sense of justice, shaping his worldview and commitment to the organization's ideals. This strong ethical foundation later drove him to scrutinize the decisions of current Acting Director, Hamyuts Meseta. His doubts crystallized upon discovering Hamyuts orchestrated the sinking of the Silver Smoke ship in Aro Bay, an act he viewed as contradictory to the Armed Librarians' purpose. His disillusionment deepened significantly when he learned the Shindeki Church, a cult opposing the library, was secretly an Armed Librarian branch, and that his revered mentor Fotona possessed knowledge of this deception. This revelation triggered profound psychological distress, shaking his core beliefs.

Acting on his convictions, Volken defected from the Bantorra Library, taking the ancient magical artifact known as the Yluckluck. His goal was to liberate the enslaved "Meats" and remove Hamyuts Meseta from power. This act led the library to brand him a traitor. He briefly returned only to depart again, accompanied this time by former Meat Renas Fleur (Olivia Litlet). Pursuit ensued, culminating in a confrontation on an island with his former mentor, Fotona. Volken emerged victorious, but Fotona was subsequently killed by another party. Volken was then falsely accused of his mentor's murder, intensifying the hunt led by Hamyuts Meseta.

Hamyuts eventually located Volken, leading to their final confrontation. During the battle, Volken initially gained the upper hand through his illusions and bladed discs. However, Hamyuts disrupted his focus by revealing the harsh truth about the origins of his sense of justice and the nature of the organization. This revelation caused a critical moment of distraction and paralysis, allowing Hamyuts to strike the fatal blow. Volken died confronting the realization that the justice he dedicated himself to was fundamentally flawed. His death served a crucial purpose: by successfully protecting Renas Fleur and buying her time, he enabled her to utilize the Yluckluck. This artifact restored the lost memories of love to all the Meats, granting their collective wish.

Beyond his defining conflict, Volken maintained significant relationships within the library. He shared a close bond with fellow third-grade Armed Librarian Mirepoc Finedel, who harbored romantic feelings for him. His personality was characterized by pride in his role, adherence to high standards for himself and others, and the deep-seated sense of justice instilled by Fotona, which ultimately dictated the course of his life and death.
