Chiemi Chiba is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on February 25, 1975, in Kawaguchi, Saitama. She began her entertainment career at the age of fourteen and initially worked as a stage actress and model before transitioning to voice acting in the mid-1990s. Her professional singing debut came on April 7, 1993, as a member of the J-Pop group Aurora Gonin Musume.
Chiba is best known for her long-running role as Doremi Harukaze, the protagonist of the Ojamajo Doremi series, which began in 1999 and continued across multiple television seasons, films, and an OVA series. She reprised the role in the 2020 theatrical film Looking for Magical DoReMi, demonstrating her enduring association with the character. Another significant early role was Wannya in Daa! Daa! Daa! (also known as UFO Baby), which she played from 2000 to 2002.
Her filmography includes a wide range of characters across numerous anime series. She played Hinako in Sister Princess and its sequel Sister Princess Re Pure, Nanaka Kirisato in Nanaka 6/17, and Yuzuriha Nekoi in Tsubasa Chronicle. In the To Love-Ru franchise, she voiced Mio Sawada and Magical Kyoko across multiple series and OVAs, including To Love-Ru, Motto To Love Ru, and To Love-Ru Darkness. She also played Kyouko Kirisaki in the related series Black Cat. Other notable roles include AquaMan in the Rockman EXE franchise, Tamon Kitayama in Happy Seven, Benio Shinada in Star Driver, and Bibury in Kirakira Precure a la Mode. She voiced Kirakishou in Rozen Maiden: Zurückspulen and Ekoda-chan in Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan, among many others.
In addition to her voice acting work, Chiba provided the Japanese voice for Baby Bop in the children's series Barney & Friends. Over the course of her career, she has been affiliated with several talent agencies, including 81 Produce, Office Nozawa, and Ken Production, before joining Umikaze. On February 25, 2013, she announced her marriage to a general office worker, and she later shared that she has a child.
