Nobutoshi Canna is a veteran Japanese actor, voice actor, and singer born Nobutoshi Hayashi on June 10, 1968, in Shinagawa, Tokyo. He is affiliated with Aoni Production and began his career in entertainment as a child actor at the age of three, appearing in commercials and short films before transitioning to voice acting in the early 1990s. He adopted the stage name Nobutoshi Canna at the start of the year 2000 as a way to mark a new beginning in his career.

Canna's breakthrough role came in 1994 when he was cast as the passionate singer Basara Nekki in the anime Macross 7, a performance that established him as a leading voice actor. He has since portrayed a wide range of characters, demonstrating his versatility across genres. One of his most iconic roles is that of the mercenary Guts in the 1997 Berserk anime series. He is also well known for his long-running roles as Kabuto Yakushi in the Naruto and Boruto series, the echidna Knuckles in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the Lancer servant Cú Chulainn in the Fate/stay night series and its various spin-offs, such as Carnival Phantasm, Fate/Grand Carnival, and Today's Menu for the Emiya Family. His filmography includes Tasuki in Fushigi Yûgi, Ban Mido in GetBackers, Nnoitra Gilga in Bleach, and Nowaki Kusama in Junjō Romantica.

Throughout his career, Canna has taken on diverse roles in many of the series listed, including Masato Inohara in Little Busters! and its crossover appearance in Kaginado, Jinpei Matsuda in the Detective Conan franchise, Drag in BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense, Takaya Sakaki in the Persona 3 movies, and various characters in the Transformers: Energen series.
