Description
Keita Kamogari is a character who appears as a student in the same nursing program as Kotoko Aihara at Tonan University. He is a young man known for his long black hair and black eyes. Before pursuing a career in nursing, he was a university student, and he eventually works at Tonan Hospital as a nurse. He is very passionate about his chosen profession in healthcare and takes the responsibilities of being a nurse seriously. This dedication can sometimes make him appear fierce or intense when things do not go as they should in a medical setting. Despite this intensity, he is fundamentally a kind and caring individual who treats patients with great compassion and gentleness.
Keita initially befriends Kotoko when they enter nursing school together, and he becomes an important part of her life during this period. Over time, he develops romantic feelings for her. This attraction is noticeable enough to cause jealousy in Kotoko's husband, Naoki Irie, who becomes aware of the growing bond between them. In one instance, Keita directly confronts Naoki about his seemingly indifferent attitude toward Kotoko, yelling at him for not caring about her needs after she falls asleep while drinking. Keita also shows his affection through small but meaningful gestures, such as allowing Kotoko to use his arm to practice taking blood pressure when he sees how hard she is working.
Keita reaches a point where he asks Kotoko to leave Naoki and be with him instead. However, he eventually comes to recognize the depth of the love that Kotoko and Naoki share. Seeing how much they genuinely care for one another, he chooses to step aside and give up on his romantic pursuit of her. This decision demonstrates his maturity and respect for Kotoko's happiness. Later in the story, Keita meets a patient named Akiko during his training at the hospital. Akiko is a young high school student who uses a wheelchair due to a handicap. Keita is very careful in his treatment of her, and he ultimately develops a romantic interest in Akiko, finding a new relationship after letting go of his feelings for Kotoko.
