R. Bruce Elliott is an American actor and voice actor known for his extensive work in English-language dubs of Japanese anime series, primarily for Funimation. Born on September 3, 1949, in Renton, Washington, he began his on-screen acting career in the late 1980s, appearing in films such as Fletch Lives and JFK, and television series like Walker, Texas Ranger. His transition into voice acting began in the 1990s, with early roles including providing English voices for anime features like Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest and Lupin III: The Columbus Files.

Over a career spanning more than three decades, Elliott has become a prolific and recognizable presence in the anime dubbing industry, lending his voice to a wide array of characters. His roles often include authoritative figures, mentors, and villains. He is perhaps best known for his long-standing role as Captain Ginyu in the Funimation dub of the Dragon Ball series, a part he has voiced across numerous series, films, and video games, including Dragon Ball Z Kai, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Another significant and recurring role is that of Makarov Dreyar in the long-running series Fairy Tail and its sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest.

In addition to his work in long-running franchises, Elliott has voiced characters in a vast number of other notable series. He portrayed Dot Pyxis in the global phenomenon Attack on Titan, Iwao Kuroiwa in Tokyo Ghoul, and Tanaka in Black Butler. He has also appeared in numerous other series, playing Kaoru Gojo in My Dress-Up Darling, Gain in By the Grace of Gods, Gray in Angels of Death, Schwarz Diese in Fairy Gone, GamiGami in Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON, Inachika Akitani in Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, Michel Belmont in Case File nº221: Kabukicho, Roshi in Chio's School Road, and Odin in Warlords of Sigrdrifa, among many others.

Beyond acting, Elliott has also contributed as an ADR director and scriptwriter on various projects, including the series Romeo x Juliet and Corpse Princess, showcasing a broader range of talents within the industry.
