Ali is the mysterious spirit residing within the Gluttonous Ring, a magical artifact worn by the protagonist Iruma Suzuki. At first, Ali existed as a formless, mindless shadow creature driven by extreme hunger. His consciousness awakened in stages tied to Iruma’s rising rank at Babyls Demon School. When Iruma reached the second rank, Bet, Ali gained limited self-awareness and the ability to sense danger. Upon achieving the third rank, Gimmel, he attained full sentience and the ability to speak, adopting a permanent physical form through the Cherusil spell. In this default form, Ali appears as a tiny gentleman about twenty centimeters tall, dressed in a tuxedo and possessing a single large eye, though he can also change his size—growing to Iruma’s height or shrinking for concealment—and alter his appearance, sometimes wearing women’s clothing or wigs, which makes his gender presentation ambiguous. After Iruma reached the fourth rank, Daleth, Ali entered a period of dormancy, awakening again when Iruma attained the fifth rank, He. At this stage, he gained the ability to move away from the ring for short distances and adjust the ring’s power output in multiple modes.

Ali has a playful, mischievous, and eccentric personality, often teasing Iruma and calling him by the nickname Irubou. In return, Iruma refers to him as Ari-san. Despite his teasing nature, Ali is fiercely loyal and protective of Iruma, consistently helping him in danger and taking his role as a magical mentor seriously. He is generally invisible and inaudible to other demons, so when Iruma speaks to him it appears as though he is talking to himself. Ali prefers to keep his existence secret from anyone other than Iruma. His abilities include storing and releasing vast amounts of magical energy, absorbing magic from others when depleted, shapeshifting, inducing a temporary wicked phase personality shift in Iruma, and manifesting physical attributes such as demon wings. His name, Alikred, is Derkila spelled backward, hinting at a possible connection to the missing Demon King, though his true origins remain enigmatic.
