Movie
Description
Kojirou, known in the English adaptation as James, is a supporting antagonist in Pokémon 3: The Movie. He is a member of Team Rocket who operates alongside his partners Musashi and their talking Pokémon Nyarth. Born into a wealthy family, Kojirou fled his privileged but restrictive upbringing and an arranged marriage to pursue a life of freedom. His personality contrasts sharply with the typical villain, as he is deeply kindhearted, gentle, and easily led. This gullible and sensitive nature makes him the most timid member of the trio and frequently the source of the group's comedic failures. Despite his role as a Pokémon thief, he holds a genuine and affectionate love for Pokémon, treating them with care. In the film, Kojirou and his teammates arrive in Greenfield hoping to steal rare Pokémon in the confusion caused by the Unown. They infiltrate the crystallized mansion but are quickly overwhelmed and blasted away by the legendary Pokémon Entei. Later, the trio manages to escape the collapsing structure alongside the main characters and declares their continued intent to pursue mischief. Kojirou's key relationships are with Musashi and Nyarth, forming a dysfunctional but fiercely loyal unit. His notable abilities include a strong aptitude for operating mechanical devices and skills in crafting disguises for the group's schemes. While the film does not center on his personal development, his role consistently reinforces his established traits of compassion, loyalty, and a persistent, if hapless, determination.
