Description
Red Eye, a professional assassin specializing in long-range sniping, boasts over eight years of experience and thirty-five confirmed kills. His nickname stems from finding aesthetic beauty in the blood spray of successful hits. He has short blond hair, dark eyes typically hidden behind dark sunglasses, and fair skin. Frequently depicted in a poncho and beanie, he appeared without them during an encounter with the God of Death.
Confident yet pragmatic, he welcomes challenging assignments but abandons missions deemed impossible. This realism emerged after underestimating Korosensei's assassination difficulty, leading to his retirement from sniping following repeated failures.
Hired by government agent Tadaomi Karasuma during Class 3-E’s Kyoto trip, Red Eye received anti-sensei bullets and target intel. He coordinated three sniper attempts with students:
- At Sagano Scenic Railway, Korosensei deflected the bullet with a yatsuhashi while distracted.
- At Toei Uzumasa Film Park tower, Korosensei joined a stage performance, blocking the shot.
- At the Five-Story Pagoda, mucus-coated blotting paper on Korosensei’s face intercepted the bullet.
Karasuma revoked further opportunities due to logistical disruptions. Red Eye then confronted Korosensei directly, expecting retaliation. Their conversation revealed Korosensei’s teaching dedication, prompting Red Eye to quit assassination. He declared his intent to explore life beyond killing: "I was inexperienced as an assassin. I’m going to go around looking at all sorts of colors without being obsessed over just one."
Later hunted and seemingly killed by the Reaper (God of Death), Red Eye survived via his youthful body’s rapid healing. He reappeared at Kunugigaoka Junior High’s festival, legally hunting a green pheasant with an international license and gifting it to Class 3-E for cooking.
His extreme marksmanship includes confirmed kills from two kilometers away during sandstorms. His durability enabled recovery from the Reaper’s near-fatal injuries. Despite retirement, he retains his skills, demonstrated by the precise pheasant hunt.
