Description
Munakata Kyousuke is a renowned Japanese actor who achieved fame in Hollywood. At age fourteen, he assumed guardianship of Mira Munakata when Mira's biological mother, Mitsuki Utsunomiya (Kyousuke's older sister), pursued her acting career overseas. Although Mira was biologically his nephew, Kyousuke raised him as his own son and formally adopted him, resulting in Mira believing Kyousuke was his biological father.
Kyousuke entered a romantic and sexual relationship with Mira during Mira's adolescence. They concealed this relationship due to Kyousuke's celebrity status and the social taboo of their familial connection. Kyousuke struggled to reconcile his role as Mira's guardian with his desires as Mira's lover, frequently exhibiting possessiveness and controlling behavior. He deliberately engaged in flirtatious conduct with others, notably the actress Mitsuki Utsunomiya, to incite jealousy in Mira and diminish Mira's shyness about their illicit bond. This manipulation caused Mira significant distress.
When Mira discovered adoption papers hinting Kyousuke might not be his biological father, Kyousuke initially evaded direct confrontation, exacerbating Mira's emotional turmoil. After Mira ran away upon learning Mitsuki was both his biological mother and Kyousuke's sister, Kyousuke sought him out to clarify their history. He confirmed Mira's adoption, explaining he took responsibility to protect Mitsuki's career opportunities. Kyousuke reassured Mira their familial and romantic bonds remained intact, explicitly rejecting marriage to Mitsuki and reaffirming his exclusive commitment to Mira.
Kyousuke maintained this duality throughout their relationship—acting as a nurturing, protective figure while simultaneously imposing his romantic and sexual expectations on Mira. He enforced his desires even when Mira expressed reluctance, justifying his actions as expressions of love meant to ensure Mira felt secure. In the light novel series (extending beyond the OVA adaptation), Kyousuke's cousin Ryousuke Munakata—revealed as Mira's biological father—also becomes romantically involved with Mira, introducing further complexity to Kyousuke's family dynamic; this storyline is absent from the animated adaptation.
Physically, Kyousuke is depicted as an adult male with blonde or yellow hair reaching his ears and yellow eyes. His appearance aligns with his profession as a celebrity actor, often seen in formal attire like suits and ties.
