Description
Alexei Karamazov, a Russian scientist and engineer dubbed the "Dr. Frankenstein of the Romanov Dynasty," dedicates his work to perfecting corpse reanimation, seeking to unravel the mysteries of the human soul through grotesque experimentation. His infamous orchestration of a Russian uprising via undead soldiers forces him into exile, hunted by Russian authorities and British spies. Relocating to Afghanistan, he isolates himself to pursue his vision of a corpse-dominated empire.

Karamazov’s methods blend opium-induced trances and auditory manipulation to prepare living subjects for spinal cord modifications, embedding necroware that enhances cognitive abilities—a fatal process he applies indiscriminately, even repurposing children’s remains and reengineering his deceased brother, Demitri, into a loyal undead servant. His interactions reveal a chilling disregard for ethics, treating human lives as expendable tools for scientific progress.

Central to his ambition is the acquisition of Victor Frankenstein’s Memorandum, believed to contain secrets for creating soul-bearing sentient corpses. Redirecting efforts to retrieve the notes from Japan, Karamazov confronts the inadequacy of his own breakthroughs. In a final act of obsession, he submits to his own experiment, allowing a corpsified Nikolai Krasotkin to "upgrade" him—a fatal gambit reflecting his fixation on conquering mortality.

A fugitive marked by rebellion and familial betrayal, Karamazov personifies the corrosive intersection of genius and amorality. His relentless pursuit of innovation, framed as a noble quest for knowledge, masks a descent into brutality, culminating in self-destruction when his ideals clash irreparably with reality.
