Description
Finn Deimne is the captain and field commander of the Loki Familia, one of the most powerful and respected adventurer groups in the city of Orario. Despite his appearance as a small, blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy, he is over forty years old. His youthful look is a result of the Falna, a divine blessing that slows the aging process of high-level adventurers. He is a member of the Pallum race, a small-statured people often perceived as weak and lacking in ambition compared to other races.
Born in a remote mountain village, Finn was a precocious child who felt a deep sense of shame and frustration toward his own people for what he saw as their passive submission to stronger races. The Pallum race had fallen into a state of despair and decline after the revelation that their revered goddess, Fianna, never truly existed but was instead a deified group of legendary Pallum knights. This loss of hope and pride became the central wound that Finn decided to heal.
When he was ten years old, a monster attack on his village changed his life forever. His parents sacrificed themselves to save him, while the other villagers fled in terror, abandoning them. In the aftermath, he buried his parents alone and forged a new resolve. He renamed himself Finn, which is said to mean light in the Pallum language, and dedicated his life to becoming a beacon of hope and a symbol of pride for his entire race, both for the living and for generations yet to be born.
Finn is defined by his sharp intellect, his ability to make quick and correct judgments, and his unwavering willingness to take decisive action. He is an exceptional strategist and a natural leader, capable of directing the movements of a large Familia in the chaotic depths of the Dungeon. While he often chooses the safest possible course of action, he is not afraid to take calculated risks when the situation demands it. He cares deeply for the safety of his Familia members, tracking their progress and mourning their losses, but he is also pragmatic and able to make difficult choices for the greater good.
In his role as the captain of the Loki Familia, Finn is responsible for the overall command and success of their expeditions. He is the primary strategist and the one who leads from the front, inspiring his allies with his courage and tactical acumen. His leadership is supported by his two closest lieutenants: Riveria Ljos Alf, an elf mage, and Gareth Landrock, a dwarf warrior. Together, the three form the executive leadership of the Familia and have an extremely close and effective working relationship built on decades of shared experience and trust. They often discuss the actions of their younger members and work together seamlessly in combat.
Finn, along with Riveria, also takes on a protective, surrogate parental role towards the prodigious swordswoman Ais Wallenstein. He is protective of her, offers her advice, and scolds her when she acts recklessly, though he also respects her martial prowess.
His personal relationships are complex. He is fully aware of the romantic feelings that Tione Hiryute, an Amazon from his Familia, has for him. While he respects her feelings, he does not return them, as his ambition to restore the Pallum race requires him to find a Pallum wife to bear a Pallum heir who will carry on his legacy. To this end, he once proposed to another Pallum adventurer, Liliruca Arde, who flatly refused him. Despite his high standing, he also respects his rivals, particularly Ottar, the captain of the Freya Familia and the strongest adventurer in Orario, whom he sees as a wall he must eventually overcome.
A key part of Finn's character arc is his journey from a self-described artificial hero to a genuine one. He is acutely aware that his image and his title of Braver were not given to him by the gods but were demanded from his own goddess, Loki, as a tool for his racial agenda. This leads him to feel like an impostor, acting out of a calculated desire for status rather than pure heroic instinct. However, during the incident involving the Xenos, sentient monsters, he witnesses the actions of the young adventurer Bell Cranel. Bell's willingness to fight for his convictions, even to protect monsters, and his unwavering courage inspire Finn. This prompts a major shift in his character, causing him to abandon his previous goal of merely emulating the ancient hero Fianna and instead strive to surpass her, becoming a true hero who fights for what is right, not just for his reputation.
As a high-level adventurer, having reached Level 7, Finn possesses immense physical capabilities. His strength, speed, and agility are at the pinnacle of Orario's fighters. Despite his small stature, he is a master of melee combat, preferring to use a long spear with a fluid and strategic fighting style that leverages his small frame for agility and precise strikes. Among his notable abilities is a unique intuitive sense, where his thumb begins to tingle as a premonition of danger or a critical moment. He possesses several spells and skills: Hell Finegas, which boosts his combat abilities at the cost of his rational judgment, and Tir na Nog, a powerful throwing magic that can only be used once every day, with its power derived from his level and accumulated stats. His skills also grant him resistance to mental attacks, the ability to project his voice over great distances with Command Howl, and enhanced spearmanship with Dia Fianna.
