Pei Sumi is the daughter of Ryohei Sumi, a mechanic for Team Sugo. During a violent storm en route to the American Grand Prix, her father was gravely injured by shifting cargo. The ship’s doctors identified an urgent need for a blood transfusion, but Pei’s rare blood type left them without a compatible supply. Hayato Kazami responded to the crisis by having the Asurada GSX reconfigured into its Marine Mode, a specialized form equipped with front hook shots, lateral air balloons, and a rear jet turbine for aquatic travel. Piloting the adapted machine, Hayato raced Pei through the storm to a shore-based hospital where she could receive the lifesaving procedure.
