Description
Hans Lee, also known by his birth name Johannes Kleeman, is a prominent hybrid character in Devils Line. He is a young man of average build, standing 181 cm tall, with long, straight silver hair that he often wears loose to cover his distinctive left eye. His right eye is blue, but his left eye is permanently in a transformed state, with a red sclera and a golden yellow iris. This unique feature is a result of consuming blood to restore his near-blind vision in that eye, which simultaneously triggers the partial transformation. Lee typically dresses in comfortable, baggy clothes such as hoodies and has been seen wearing a cross necklace similar to a ring owned by Yuuki Anzai.
Lee was born in Obihiro, Hokkaido, as part of the 15th Hybrid Birth Project at the ONLO facility. The son of a Chinese devil mother and a German human father, he was taken in by the facility at birth and raised in isolation as a valuable test subject for experiments on hybrid abilities and wound healing. His only companions were books, which gave him extensive knowledge of the outside world and sparked his fascination with the endless sky. Around the age of twenty, a researcher named Midori Anzai helped him escape permanently, giving him money, revealing his real name, and encouraging him to find a true home. After his escape, Lee traveled extensively, staying with various people who offered him shelter and blood. It was during this time that he began using the alias Hans Lee, a name given to him by a woman named Dr. Feng Jing, with whom he developed a close relationship.
