Description
Naruko Morita is a second-year student at Kishimai High School who becomes trapped in the virtual world of Mobius for a year. After uncovering crucial information about the true nature of this artificial reality, she decides to join the Go-Home Club, a group formed by individuals who have awakened to the fact that their world is an illusion and who seek to escape back to the real world. Physically, Naruko is the shortest member of the club. She has black hair styled in medium-length pigtails, brown eyes, and is often seen wearing red semi-rimless glasses. A distinctive part of her appearance is the pair of silver headphones she wears, which feature a red flower icon on top.

Naruko possesses a strong sense of empathy and idealism, and she is deeply driven by a desire to help and protect those around her. She is passionate about music and is a talented singer and songwriter. Her love for music is central to her identity, and she wishes to use her abilities to inspire others. This passion is also tied to a significant personal trauma: she experienced an event in her past that caused her to lose her voice. Her primary personal motivation throughout the story is to overcome this past trauma and recover her voice so she can continue pursuing her musical ambitions. This makes her journey not only one of escape from Mobius but also a quest for personal healing and self-acceptance.

Within the Go-Home Club, Naruko takes on the role of being in charge of publicity. Her musical talents also serve a practical purpose, as she uses her songwriting and performance skills to aid the club in their struggle against the Ostinato Musicians, the devoted followers of the virtual idol Mu who work to maintain the illusion of Mobius. In combat, Naruko activates her Catharsis Effect, an ability that emerges from her emotions. When she uses this power, she undergoes a transformation: her favorite backpack changes, and she gains two beat daggers that she can control and move at will. A notable physical change during this state is the formation of a large cavity at the nape of her neck.

Naruko develops key relationships with the other members of the Go-Home Club, particularly with the protagonist, whom she quickly becomes a close ally of. Her interactions with the character known as Thorn are also significant, as Thorn refers to her by her full name. As the story progresses, Naruko confronts not only the external threats of Mobius but also her own internal struggles. Her development centers on reclaiming her voice and her sense of agency, allowing her to move forward with determination and a renewed sense of purpose. Through her involvement with the club, she grows stronger in her resolve to protect her friends and to face the realities she once wished to escape from.
