Description
Makoto Kiriyama is a main character in the anime Takunomi. She is a twenty-one-year-old college student in her third year of university who resides at Stella Haruno House, a women-only share house in Tokyo, where she occupies room 203. Her birthday is June 24th. She is the younger sister of Nao Kiriyama. In addition to her studies, she works part-time as a barista at a cafe.
In terms of personality, Makoto is known for having a more serious and composed demeanor compared to her elder sister. Despite first appearing as a cool beauty, she is actually very kind-hearted and caring. She loves to eat and has a particular fondness for sweet cocktails when it comes to alcoholic beverages. Her striking appearance frequently causes people to try to scout her for modeling work when she goes into town.
Makoto's role in the story is one of the four central residents of the share house. Along with the other women, she warmly welcomes the new resident Michiru Amatsuki when she moves in. The series follows their daily lives as they relax together at home and explore a variety of Japanese alcoholic drinks, one featured per episode. Makoto often participates in these casual drinking sessions with her housemates.
Her most notable relationship is with her older sister Nao, who also lives in Stella Haruno House. Makoto frequently teases Nao, especially when Nao drinks to excess, but she is deeply caring and supportive toward her. She also shares close bonds with the other housemates, Michiru and Kae, and contributes to the warm, friendly atmosphere of the share house.
As a slice-of-life comedy, the series does not depict dramatic character development for Makoto. Instead, she remains a consistent, grounded presence among the group. Her notable abilities are not supernatural or extraordinary; rather, they are her practical skills as a college student and barista, her keen observation of others, and her knack for balancing her more serious nature with a genuine warmth and care for the people around her.
