Description
Clementine is a significant antagonist from the second volume of the series. She is a rogue warrior affiliated with the secret organization Zuranon, where she holds the rank of one of its twelve executives. Prior to her life as a fugitive, Clementine was a former member of the Slane Theocracy's Black Scripture, the nation's most powerful military unit, where she held the ninth seat. There, she was known by the alias "Gale Swift" and was considered a hero-class warrior. She betrayed the Theocracy after stealing a national treasure, the Crown of Wisdom, also known as the Diadem of Dark Wisdom, from the Windflower Scripture. This act forced her to flee and seek protection from Zuranon.

In terms of appearance, Clementine is a woman in her mid-twenties who makes an effort to appear younger, with short blonde hair and delicate, cat-like features that give her a simultaneously cute and ferocious look. Her armor is far from standard; it is a lightweight, chainmail bikini-style outfit onto which she affixes the metal plates or medals taken from the adventurers she has slain, wearing them as hunting trophies. Her weapon of choice is a pair of stilettos, though she also uses a spiked mace for certain situations.

Clementine's personality is that of a true psychopath and sadist. She is obsessed with inflicting pain and torture, and she has a casual, almost playful attitude toward taking lives. She openly declares her love for murder and killing, and she derives pleasure from playing with her prey and tormenting them for extended periods. This cruelty stems not from a troubled past she claims, but from a deliberate choice to be a monster, viewing other people as either tools to be used or prey to be hunted. As a former member of the Black Scripture, she possesses immense confidence in her combat abilities, to the point of arrogance, and often toys with her opponents. However, she is not without a sense of warrior pride, as she acknowledges the strength of formidable fighters like Gazef Stronoff and Brain Unglaus, and she can show restraint, as seen when she resists a clear provocation from Ainz during their fight.

Her primary motivation is the pursuit of her own twisted pleasure. She kills indiscriminately for fun and engages in schemes that offer her the chance to fight and kill strong opponents. Her role in the story's main arc involves a partnership with a fellow Zuranon member, Khajiit Dale Badantel. She agrees to help him with his plan to create an army of the undead by kidnapping Nfirea, a talented young herbalist, in exchange for him covering her escape. As part of this plot, she mercilessly murders the four members of the adventurer team Swords of Darkness who were guarding Nfirea, gruesomely torturing one of them, Ninya, to death. This act of violence directly incurs the wrath of Ainz, who had been working with the Swords of Darkness, leading to a personal confrontation.

Clementine's key relationships are marked by opportunism and mutual wariness. Her alliance with Khajiit is purely transactional, with each aware that the other would kill them if given a chance and it proved beneficial. Her most significant relationship is her fatal encounter with Ainz Ooal Gown. In a duel against his warrior guise, Momon, she initially holds her own, showcasing her superior speed and martial arts technique. However, she is utterly outmatched when Ainz reveals his true form, an undead magic caster of immense power. After toying with her to study her techniques, he kills her in a brutal fashion, crushing her to death in a bear hug as retribution for the torturous way she killed Ninya. Her body later disappears from its storage facility, leaving her ultimate fate ambiguous.

As a warrior, Clementine is exceptionally powerful, considered one of the strongest heroes in the world. Her combat style matches her lithe appearance, focusing on enhancing her physical abilities through martial arts and using her agility in light armor to land one-hit-kill blows. She uses a variety of martial arts techniques, including "Flow Acceleration" to increase her speed, "Ability Up" and "Greater Ability Up" to boost her physical parameters, "Fortress" for defense, and "Greater Evasion" to dodge attacks. Her signature tactic, which she describes as "swish and stab," involves closing the distance in a flash and delivering a precise, fatal thrust with her stiletto. Her stilettos are also magically enchanted, allowing her to discharge spells like Lightning and Fireball directly into a wound for devastating internal damage. Despite her immense skill and power, her arrogance and underestimation of Ainz lead directly to her demise, though Ainz later incorporates elements of her fighting stance and techniques into his own warrior practice.
