Description
Hikaru is a member of Dark Cherry, the rival idol unit to the main heroines in Crane Game Girls Galaxy. At thirteen years old, she is the youngest member of her group and is characterized by an innocent and cheerful disposition. This innocence, however, often manifests as a bizarre and unpredictable logic, making her a source of considerable chaos and humor. Her role in Dark Cherry is specifically to oppose Mirai, one of the main protagonists.

Hikaru's personality is defined by her endearing yet airheaded nature. She approaches situations with a childlike and often nonsensical perspective, which frequently puts her at odds with the expectations of being both an idol and an invader from space. This was notably displayed during a popularity contest battle where her strange and funny self-introduction unexpectedly won her a large number of votes, securing a victory for her team. While Dark Cherry is meant to be a serious threat, Hikaru rarely takes anything seriously, preferring to goof around with her teammates rather than dwell on their losses.

Despite their role as rivals, Hikaru demonstrates a kind and surprisingly sweet heart. When her team goes undercover on Earth, their infiltration attempt quickly fails, and they end up bonding with the Crane Game Girls at an arcade. During this outing, Hikaru uses a remarkable, untapped talent for winning crane games to claim a collection of prizes, which she then gives to her teammates as a gesture of friendship. This ability to consistently win at the crane game becomes a notable skill for her, separate from her idol activities.

Her career as an idol is anything but stable. At one point, the members of Dark Cherry resign, leading Hikaru to take a mundane job as a convenience store cashier. In this role, her odd logic created havoc for customers; she would charge tax on free items and claim to have no change, though her overwhelming cuteness still managed to keep customers coming back. Later, in a misguided attempt at spiritual enlightenment, she and her teammates shave their heads and become nuns, a phase that was ultimately short-lived.

Within Dark Cherry, Hikaru serves as a counterbalance to her more volatile teammates. While leader Lumie has a short temper that can lead to a "devil mode," and Rei is a hikikomori prone to panicking and firing destructive beams from her eyes, Hikaru remains cheerfully oblivious, often escalating the team's antics in a different direction. In one instance, she even accidentally fired her weapon at their commander Dark Gorilla's monitor, highlighting the team's general lack of discipline. Their signature ability, however, is being able to sing in the vacuum of space without spacesuits, and their songs generate powerful energy beams used in their idol battles. Ultimately, Hikaru is a comedic character whose primary motivation seems to be having fun and causing trouble, whether as a rival, a cashier, or a friend.
