Description
Originally a teenager from the streets of New York City, Jet Link lived a life of delinquency as the leader of a local gang. His origins are rooted in the rough neighborhoods of Manhattan's West Side, where his involvement in gang conflicts, including an accidental killing, led to a chase with police. To escape, he accepted a ride from a stranger who was secretly an agent of the criminal organization Black Ghost. This abduction resulted in Jet being captured and forcibly transformed into the second prototype of the 00 Cyborg series, designated Cyborg 002.

Jet Link possesses a personality defined by a sharp contrast between a fiery exterior and a deeply loyal heart. He is famously quick-tempered, brash, stubborn, and cynical, often speaking his mind openly without concern for the reactions of his teammates. Despite this rebellious and sometimes antagonistic nature, he is fundamentally friendly and laid-back, assuming a role akin to an older brother figure within the group. While he frequently clashes with the team's leader over tactical decisions, his respect for his comrades ensures he follows their lead when it matters most, demonstrating a fierce loyalty that underpins all his actions.

His primary driving motivation is a deep-seated hatred for the Black Ghost organization that stole his humanity and an unwavering determination to see it destroyed. Beyond this goal of vengeance, he is driven by a need for redemption and a powerful protective instinct, particularly towards children and the vulnerable. This sense of responsibility often stems from a lingering guilt over his perceived failures to protect the weak during his own troubled youth. He seeks to atone for his past by using his powers to fight against those who would exploit or harm the innocent.

Within the story, Jet serves as the team's aerial combat and reconnaissance specialist. His role is often that of the impulsive foil to the calmer, more collected leader, providing a necessary counterbalance to the group's dynamic. He is a front-line fighter, using his speed and marksmanship to engage enemies directly. His key relationships are defined by this friction and mutual respect. He shares a particularly strong bond with certain teammates, often collaborating closely with them in battle. Despite their personality clashes, his partnership with his fellow cyborgs is essential to the team's effectiveness, and he confides in them about the burdens of his existence.

Though he is chronologically much older due to periods of cryogenic stasis that preserved his body, he retains the appearance and temperament of a young adult. His development across the narrative involves a gradual tempering of his reckless impulses into disciplined courage. While he begins as a reluctant hero, his experiences solidify his commitment to his team and his cause, evolving from a street punk into a noble, if still defiant, protector of humanity.

His most notable abilities are centered on high-speed aerial combat. He has rocket boosters integrated into his legs and feet, granting him the power of supersonic flight at speeds reaching up to Mach 5. He is also equipped with a prototype Accelerator, an early version of the speed-enhancing technology that gives him a temporary burst of incredible velocity, though it is not as powerful or long-lasting as later models. Complementing his flight capabilities, Jet is a highly proficient marksman, a skill honed during his days as a street gang member. He is frequently depicted as a master of dual-wielding his signature super guns, making him a formidable opponent from both the air and the ground.
