Description
Lieselotte Sherlock is the older twin sister of Selina Sherlock and one of the seven powerful mages known as the Trinity Seven, representing the archive of Acedia. Prior to the events of the story, she vanished from the Royal Biblia Academy and later reappeared as an evil mage after conducting a forbidden experiment to connect to the Eternal Library, where she obtained the Magic King’s Element and became a candidate for the title of Demon Lord. After being defeated and saved by the protagonist Arata Kasuga, she became his ally and friend.

In personality, Lieselotte is confident, seductive, and playful, often using her charm and feminine appeal to achieve her goals. She enjoys teasing others, especially Arata, and is not above using her body to create openings in combat. Beneath this flirtatious exterior, however, she possesses a ruthless ambition and a deep desire to unlock the secrets of the Eternal Library and wield ultimate magical power. She is highly intelligent and a genius in numerology-based magic, which earned her the nickname the Infinite Mage. Her motivations initially center on acquiring the Magic King’s Element and becoming a Demon Lord, but after her defeat and redemption, she shifts toward protecting her friends and supporting Arata’s goals.

Lieselotte’s role in the story is multifaceted. She begins as an antagonist who triggers a massive Collapse Phenomenon and attempts to steal the magical power of the other Trinity Seven members. Following her defeat, she becomes a major ally and a key member of the group, frequently participating in battles and providing strategic support. In the film Trinity Seven: Eternal Library & Alchemic Girl, she is present during the early beach scene, where she temporarily possesses her sister Selina’s body, and later joins the fight against the White Demon Lord who awakens from the Eternal Library. She also attempts to use Arata’s magic to transform her own grimoire, though without success.

Key relationships define her character arc. Her bond with her twin sister Selina is central: despite their contrasting personalities and motivations, Lieselotte cares deeply for her, and this fraternal connection adds emotional layers to her actions. Her interactions with Arata Kasuga are equally important, as he is the one who defeats her and later earns her trust and loyalty, leading to a dynamic where her desire for power conflicts with her growing sense of camaraderie. She also interacts with the other Trinity Seven members, initially as an adversary but later as a trusted comrade.

Development occurs throughout the series as Lieselotte transitions from a power-hungry criminal to a redeemed hero. Her defeat at Arata’s hands forces her to re-evaluate her ambitions, and she gradually opens up to genuine friendships. She retains her flirtatiousness and cunning, but her motivations become more aligned with protecting those she now considers allies.

Lieselotte’s notable abilities stem from her mastery of numerology and space-time magic. Her signature technique is the Infinite Prison, a space-time binding spell that can trap opponents in an endless loop. She can also cause large-scale Breakdown Phenomena and manipulate multiple forms of magic, making her a formidable combatant. As a former second seat of the Royal Library Inspectors and a self-proclaimed Demon Lord candidate, her magical power is among the highest in the series. Her nickname, the Infinite Mage, reflects her capacity for vast magical reserves and complex spatial manipulation.
