Nao Tōyama is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on March 11, 1992, in Tokyo. She has been active in the industry since 2010 and is currently affiliated with the agency Intention, having previously been a member of Arts Vision. She is a graduate of Waseda University.
Tōyama's interest in voice acting was sparked by anime series such as Fullmetal Alchemist. To pursue this career, she enrolled in the Japan Narration Acting Institute during high school before joining Arts Vision. Her debut role came in 2010 with the original video animation Hiyokoi, and in the same year, she landed her first major leading role as Kanon Nakagawa in The World God Only Knows. This early success led to other significant parts, including Yune in Ikoku Meiro no Croisée and Margot Knight in Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere.
Throughout her career, Tōyama has become known for voicing a wide array of characters across many popular anime series. She has taken on leading roles in major franchises, such as Chitoge Kirisaki in Nisekoi, Yui Yuigahama in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, and Rin Shima in Laid-Back Camp. Other prominent roles include Tomoe Koga in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, Karen Kujō in Kin-iro Mosaic, Ruka Sarashina in Rent-A-Girlfriend, and Chiho Sasaki in The Devil Is a Part-Timer!. Her filmography also includes roles in long-running and varied series like Sound! Euphonium as Nozomi Kasaki, Kantai Collection as multiple characters including the Kongō sisters, and as a member of the music unit Walküre in Macross Delta.
Beyond her main roles, Tōyama has contributed her voice to a vast number of other projects. Her debut album, Rainbow, was released on October 25, 2017, and she held her first solo concert at the Nippon Budokan in February 2018.
For her contributions to the industry, Tōyama was a recipient of the Best Supporting Actress Award and the Game Award at the 13th Seiyu Awards in 2019.
