Description
Pafu is a fairy from the Hope Kingdom who appears in the 2015 film Eiga Precure All Stars: Haru no Carnival as a companion to the heroines of Go! Princess Precure. She resembles a small, bipedal, poodle-like creature with long flowing pink hair, a pink mane and tail, and a golden crown set with a red heart-shaped jewel at the center. Along with her older brother Aroma, she was entrusted by the prince of the Hope Kingdom with the mission of finding the Princess Pretty Cure, the girls destined to save their homeland. During that search she encountered Haruka Haruno and helped her become a Precure, after which she remained close to Haruka as her fairy partner. In the film, she accompanies Haruka, Minami, and Kirara when they travel to the musical kingdom of Harmonia to take part in the Spring Carnival.
In personality, Pafu is spoiled, talkative, girly, and carefree. She has a strong love of fashion and is happiest when trying out different hairstyles and outfits. She is also friendly, curious, and lovable, and she has a habit of ending her sentences with the word "pafu." Her long, fluffy hair occasionally causes her to trip over herself, but she never gives up. Beneath her pampered exterior, she is genuinely caring and protective: she has courageously shielded an ill Princess Towa from danger, and she willingly helps the Precure in practical ways as a maid-in-training, taking on duties such as cleaning and sweeping.
Her motivations are rooted in loyalty to the royal family of the Hope Kingdom and in her desire to see the mission given to her and Aroma succeed. Because Prince Kanata entrusted her with the means to find the Pretty Cure, she takes her duty seriously and is devoted to supporting the girls as they face danger and pursue their dreams. She holds the prince and Princess Towa in high regard and defers to them with great respect, while her relationship with Aroma is that of a younger sister to a dependable older brother.
Within the story of Haru no Carnival, Pafu appears alongside the central cast as they are invited to perform at the grand festival. When the carnival is thrown into turmoil by the villainous hosts, who secretly begin capturing the fairies and stealing the Cures' transformation items, Pafu is caught up in the resulting panic like the other fairies in attendance. Her presence reinforces the connection between the fairy companions and their Cure partners, and she remains a supporting presence to the Go! Princess team as they work together with the other Precure to restore peace to Harmonia.
Over the course of her appearances, Pafu develops from a pampered and somewhat carefree fairy into a more responsible and devoted companion. While the film itself focuses largely on the Precure and their performances, her consistent care for the girls and her earlier acts of bravery show steady growth in courage and reliability. Her notable abilities are modest but useful: she can fly, and she is skilled at simple household tasks such as cleaning, which she performs in her role as a fairy serving the princesses. These traits make her a warm and lively figure among the fairies gathered for the carnival.
