Description
"IRODUKU: The World in Colors" is a 13-episode anime series set in a world where magic exists alongside modern technology. The story centers on Hitomi Tsukishiro, a 17-year-old girl from a family of witches who has lost her ability to perceive colors due to emotional trauma. Living in a monochromatic world, Hitomi becomes emotionally distant and struggles to connect with others. Her grandmother, Kohaku, a powerful witch, decides to send her back in time to the year 2018 in an attempt to help her rediscover her emotions and the vibrancy of life.
In 2018, Hitomi encounters Kohaku’s younger self, who is still a high school student, and a group of her friends: Yuito Aoi, a reserved but talented artist; Asagi Kawai, a cheerful and outgoing photographer; Chigusa Fukasawa, a quiet and observant calligrapher; and Shou Amemura, a playful and tech-savvy individual. Together, they form the art club, where they explore their creative passions. Hitomi gradually becomes involved in their activities, particularly through Yuito, whose paintings captivate her and begin to restore her perception of color.
As Hitomi spends more time with the group, she starts to open up emotionally, forming bonds with each member. Her interactions with Yuito are especially significant, as his art becomes a conduit for her rediscovery of color and her own suppressed feelings. However, Hitomi’s presence in the past is not without complications. Her inability to fully control her magic leads to unintended consequences, and she must confront the emotional barriers that have kept her isolated.
The narrative explores themes of self-discovery, emotional healing, and the transformative power of art and human connection. Hitomi’s journey is one of gradual growth, as she learns to embrace her emotions and the beauty of the world around her. The series balances moments of introspection with lighthearted interactions among the characters, creating a heartfelt and visually engaging story. By the end, Hitomi’s experiences in the past leave a lasting impact on her, shaping her understanding of herself and her place in the world.
