Brittney Karbowski is an American voice actress known for her extensive work in English dubs of Japanese anime series. Born on June 26, 1986, in Sugar Land, Texas, she began her acting career in local theater productions in Houston, including shows like Little Shop of Horrors and The Pirates of Penzance. Her entry into voice acting occurred when a director from ADV Films noticed her performance as Janet in a stage production of The Rocky Horror Show. She briefly attended the University of Houston, where she majored in theater.

Karbowski started in the anime industry in 2004 with minor roles in the series Gantz. Her first leading role came with ADV Films as Fuko in the series Gilgamesh. Throughout the 2000s, she secured starring voice roles in various series, including Himeko Katagiri in Pani Poni Dash, Aoba Tsuzaki in Jinki: Extend, and the lead heroine Ayu Tsukimiya in Kanon. In 2007, she began working with Funimation, with her first starring role for the studio being Mai in Itsudatte My Santa!.

A significant milestone in her career was landing the starring role of Black Star in the Funimation dub of Soul Eater, which was broadcast on Adult Swim in 2013. This period also saw her voicing Selim Bradley / Pride in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Ryou Fujibayashi in Clannad. Her portfolio expanded to include leading characters in high-profile series such as Yuri Nakamura in Angel Beats!, Ikaros in Heaven's Lost Property, and Cecilia Alcott in Infinite Stratos.

Karbowski has become known for several long-running and iconic roles. She voices Mikoto Misaka in the A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun series, a role she has reprised across multiple seasons and films. She is also the voice of Wendy Marvell in the long-running series Fairy Tail. Another notable and recurring role is Rimuru Tempest in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and its related series, The Slime Diaries. Her filmography also includes Sanae Dekomori in the Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! franchise, Yamada in B Gata H Kei, Chizuru Yukimura in the Hakuoki series, and Nanachi in Made in Abyss.

Throughout her career, Karbowski has maintained recurring collaborations with major anime production and licensing companies, including Funimation (now Crunchyroll), Sentai Filmworks, and ADV Films. Her voice work extends beyond anime to video games, with roles such as Pinkun in Akiba's Beat and Cetia in War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, as well as live-action films like Puncture and The Starving Games. Her versatility is demonstrated by her ability to portray a wide range of characters, from young boys and girls to mature women, and even a genderless slime. She has been a guest of honor at numerous anime conventions across the United States. Karbowski married Matthew Hernandez on October 11, 2013.
