Kyoko Jingu, once an ordinary high school student, gains magical abilities after a near-fatal drowning incident draws the attention of Su, a mysterious entity who tasks her with gathering and destroying mana crystals. Convinced this mission protects humanity from disaster, she remains oblivious to the crystals’ ties to the Demon Realm until her actions trigger its collapse, dispersing the fragments into the human world and sapping the strength of its inhabitants—including Jahy.
In her civilian identity, Kyoko sports a school uniform and long dark hair tied in a ponytail. Her magical form shortens and lightens her hair to blonde, paired with a ribbon-adorned outfit and a staff, while a persistent black beauty mark beneath her right eye bridges both identities. Empowered with superhuman durability, energy projection, flight, and matter manipulation, she withstands lethal threats like lightning strikes or collisions. Yet each crystal she collects amplifies a curse of catastrophic misfortune, inviting relentless accidents and driving others to shun her.
Initially clashing with Jahy over the crystals, Kyogo disrupts the demon’s attempts to restore her realm, culminating in a failed raid on Jahy’s apartment. A later confrontation at the beach unveils their shared solitude, prompting Kyoko to abandon her mission and offer friendship. Despite her earnest intentions, her social clumsiness and intrusive behavior unsettle Jahy, blurring the line between ally and stalker.
Gradually transitioning from foe to companion, Kyoko joins Jahy working part-time at the Maou pub. She shelters and sustains the resurrected Demon Lord, enduring their indifference with quiet resolve. Her lonely past, defined by a self-imposed duty to absorb others’ suffering, contrasts her budding ties to Jahy and the pub’s oddball regulars. Though plagued by unending mishaps, she clings to optimism, believing her endurance shields others from pain.
Kyoko’s path weaves redemption through apologizing to the Demon Lord, mending bridges with Jahy, and channeling her strength toward uplifting those around her. Yet her social missteps and the lingering fallout of the Demon Realm’s ruin complicate her integration into ordinary life, framing her evolution from misguided savior to flawed but determined protector—a hero learning to balance responsibility with the fragile hope of belonging.
