Description
Chaika Bohdan, also known as the Red Chaika, is one of the many Chaika gene-bearers created in the aftermath of the Gaz Empire's fall. She is a young woman with a striking resemblance to Chaika Trabant, sharing the same silver-white hair and purple eyes, as well as a distinctive scar across her neck. However, Bohdan is distinguished by her shorter hair cut to shoulder length, a slightly taller and more developed build, and her choice of clothing, which consists primarily of red garments and a red headband. She carries a large wheeled coffin, similar to other Chaikas, which is used to transport the remains of the deceased emperor, Arthur Gaz.

In terms of personality, Chaika Bohdan serves as a stark contrast to the more passive and polite Chaika Trabant. She is aggressive, blunt, and driven by a fierce and open hatred. Her motivations are rooted in a clear, militant ambition: to not only collect the scattered remains of Emperor Gaz but to fully resurrect the Gaz Empire. She also seeks vengeance against the Eight Heroes who defeated and killed her supposed father. This vengeful and imperialistic goal sets her apart from Trabant, whose primary aim is to simply collect the remains for a proper funeral. Bohdan displays a cold and sometimes cruel demeanor, with a gaze that has been described as containing pure feelings of hatred and resentment.

Bohdan plays the role of a rival and sometimes an uneasy ally to the protagonist Toru Acura and his party. She leads her own small group of mercenaries, consisting of the spearman David and the mage Selma, with whom she shares a bond of loyalty. Initially, she clashes with Toru and his sister Akari over possession of Emperor Gaz's remains, holding them hostage at one point. Despite this antagonistic beginning, Bohdan develops a complex interest in Toru, frequently trying to persuade him to join her cause and showing visible embarrassment when he is close or touches her. Her overtures are persistently rejected, yet she continues to appear and interact with the main party, creating a dynamic that shifts from outright hostility to a tense, cooperative rivalry.

Throughout the story, Chaika Bohdan undergoes significant development as the truth about the Chaikas is revealed. She is forced to confront the horrific reality that she and the other Chaikas are incomplete copies, essentially puppets created to gather the remains so the original Arthur Gaz could be reborn. Witnessing the grotesque resurrection ceremony conducted by the Black Chaika fills her with disgust and existential doubt, leading her to question her own purpose. Rejecting the purpose she was created for, she ultimately abandons her quest for imperial revival and joins forces with Toru and Chaika Trabant to fight against the reborn emperor. Following the final battle, she survives and is last seen traveling with Akari to search for a missing Toru.

Chaika Bohdan is a skilled swordswoman, specializing in close-quarters combat. Her primary weapon is a unique sword known as a snake-blade or serpentine blade, which is a type of transformable mechanical sword. This weapon can switch between the form of a standard sword and a segmented whip-like blade, granting her versatile attack options at close and mid-range. This fighting style contrasts directly with Chaika Trabant, who is a magic user who fights from a distance with a gun-shaped magical wand.
